Florida State battled back from the losers' bracket yesterday to win the NCAA Tallahassee Baseball Regional tournament, eliminating Florida, Bucknell, and then Tulane. So now FSU moves on to the Super Regional, where they'll face Wichita State. And the mascot of Wichita State is...

I've been following the Florida State baseball team pretty closely this season, so maybe this is my own fault. The annual post season choke job is currently WELL under way... Heather bought me NCAA Football 2008 for our upcoming anniversary, so I've been playing that a lot lately. The game has a new (to me, anyway; the last version I played was 2003) "motivation" feature. I had some hope that Florida State might be able to beat Florida today... But then, I also thought that FSU had a pretty good defense. Sure, it's had its ups and downs this year, but overall they had been pretty darn good. Against the run in particular.
