Rosie had emailed her itinerary to Kayashima the day before after she had changed her booking. The trip would be slightly more expensive this way but Jonna had been understanding. As eager as he was to see her, Rosie was glad he understood she needed to be there for her friends too

Got me all to yourself 'til tomorrow night. Rosie was happy to see him and her usual flirtatious self.

"Perfect. There is only the cat to bear witness and I do believe I can bribe her with fish." ...Taiki is a little rusty on the humor/flirting area of life. But he offers to take the larger luggage that Rosie is dragging and gestures down the hall towards the trains. "It is a bit of a trip to the house, but I bought you a rail card..." He produces a small rectangular paper card and hands it to her and then starts towards the railway. "How was your trip?"

I like trains. Rosie took the card and tucked it into her bra for the moment.
Gotta lotta sleep. Rosie stepped up beside him. Figurin' you and Jonna ain't gonna let me sleep much for few days.

But then his stomach growled. Taiki blinked, surprised, and then looked up at Rosie, his left hand coming up to cover the scar on his neck. "Are you hungry? What time is it?" He glanced up at the sky, trying to judge by the position of the Sun.

Ain't gotta idea. Been through too many time zones ta know mucha anythin'. She smiled at him though and looked up as well. Anythin' good ta eat on the beach front?

"Really. I may have to put you to the natto challenge." A small, devious smile. "But you are right; there is something comforting about foods particular to your home."
Reply
Natto? Rosie turned her attention back to Taiki curiously. Lotta food from home missin' when getta travelin' but I miss the oranges the most. My grandma has an orange tree in her yard an' get best oranges there.

And the food came.
"It is fermented soybeans. I enjoy it but many do not. Mito is acutally quite famous for their natto, if you would like to try it. It is also used to make this soup." He began picking at the vegetables, noodles, and tofu in his bowl. "Oh? It must be nice to have fresh ones."

I would try it. Rosie smiled and thanked the waitress when she brought the food. Ain't nothin' like fresh oranges. Might try and get some over here for ya. Jonna had me smuggle 'em ta England once.

The cat gave an appreciative rumble at the petting but she was on a mission...Stealthily, she crept around the other side of the island, watching. She may have been successful if this wasn't a nightly routine...and if it wasn't Taiki she was stalking. It was a complicated love/hate relationship she had with the human.

Ya coulda asked me ta get it for ya. Jonna always makin' me get things like that.

The mug of tea was handed over to Rosie and Taiki led them down into the living room where they could sit.

Rosie went in and took a seat with her tea before offering Taiki the bag. It contained a pair of jerseys and a matching pair of tea mugs.

"Mmm, I actually have two. But they are both colors that most people cannot see." He unconsciously tapped his finger against the side of the couch.

Thinkin' Jonna likes red too but... I ain't never asked'im what his favorite is.
Rosie was kind of sad that she hadn't ever asked but then she never had a reason to really.
Ain't fair iffin' ya like colors I can't see. What'd ya like then?

Taiki actually laughed when she told him it wasn't fair. He'd heard that before from Shuichi. "One is...mm...Similar to a rosy pink? But it has a degree of white, almost shiney? It is hard to describe colors." He frowned thoughtfully. "It is very warm. Same with the other color, it is almost a red-orange. They are beautiful and rare to come across." He made a sour face, unhappy with how he had described them. "It is hard to put into words."

Rosie didn't mind talking about things like this. She was always curious about other people. One more tool to decipher them wasn't something she would turn down learning about.
She listened to his description and smiled. Soundin' like an opal. Ya ever seen a good one they're lot like that. An' the orange one might be like citrine or carnelian?
Rosie loved jewelery, that was hardly a secret, and she often associated colors with stones.
