Rosie had emailed her itinerary to Kayashima the day before after she had changed her booking. The trip would be slightly more expensive this way but Jonna had been understanding. As eager as he was to see her, Rosie was glad he understood she needed to be there for her friends too

"I am having sencha," he turned the tin of green tea so the label faced her and then opened up a nearby cupboard. "But I have a few you can choose from." He pulled down a peppermint, oolong, two black tea varieties, and a chamomile. Standing on tip-toes, he reached up and grabbed an extra mug and strainer.

The cat gave an appreciative rumble at the petting but she was on a mission...Stealthily, she crept around the other side of the island, watching. She may have been successful if this wasn't a nightly routine...and if it wasn't Taiki she was stalking. It was a complicated love/hate relationship she had with the human.

I'd like ta try. Usually been drinkin' Lady Gray or sometimes English breakfast tea. Rosie giggled at all the stretching.

Ya coulda asked me ta get it for ya. Jonna always makin' me get things like that.

"If I were smart I would move them down a shelf," he shrugged. "But I do it everyday, I am used to it."
The mug of tea was handed over to Rosie and Taiki led them down into the living room where they could sit.

Hard ta change iffin' you're used to it.

Rosie went in and took a seat with her tea before offering Taiki the bag. It contained a pair of jerseys and a matching pair of tea mugs.

Taiki carefully pulled the gifts out and smiled, looking each one over. He was really touched that Rosie had thought of him like this... She received a bright smile and a very heartfelt 'thank you'.

Rosie leaned over and kissed his cheek. Glad ya like 'em. Wasn't too sure whatcha'd want.

"You are a very kind person." When she kissed his cheek he snagged her up in a tight hug. "I am very lucky to have you as a friend." He was feeling so warm and fuzzy that when the cat hopped up onto his lap he didn't push her off...There may even have been some petting. "Life is a little strange...Out of all the bad things that happened during my stay in New York, I met you while confined in a faulty elevator." The jerseys were carefully folded and put back in the bag so cat hair wouldn't get on them.

Rosie was a little surprised that Taiki was hugging her but she returned a very warm and tight hug.

Never know who ya gonna meet. Met lotta my best friends in places ain't so good ta be.

"Then I believe you would be the common factor. You can make unfavorable situations tolerable and pleasant because you have a good personality." Taiki beamed up at her, scratching the cat's neck. He let his head fall back against the couch, a little tired...He had ventured outside and hugged people and it was all very exhausting. "I am sorry that I do not know much about the nightlife anymore to take you out. I feel a bit old in that respect...I am a boring 24 year old." He chuckled a little.

I make lotta bad situations too. Rosie's thoughts went somewhere bad for only a moment. She didn't want to upset the mood and set it aside. Ain't nothin'. I get sick-a the nightlife sometimes. Lotta time spent in bars and restaurants on the road.

Rosie gave him a poke in the side. 24 ain't old.

Taiki's head straightened up off the couch when her aura darkened with bad thoughts. He opened his mouth to say something about her not harbouring such things because they can manifest and take on a life of their own...but instead he just closed it. If Rosie wanted it left alone then he would comply. Still, he was a little concerned.

"Those places -restaurants and bars-, they have their purposes. But it does not take long for them to all run together and become tiresome."

And then he was poked! In the side no less! He wrinkled his nose and stuck out his tongue a little at both the poke and the comment. "It feels very old. By thirty I'll be decrepit. I will be the creepy feeble old man with the mean cat and dark, silent house." At the mention of the cat she got playful little scratches on the top of her head. True to form, she reached up and swatted at him with a paw.

I gotta go to them all the time on the road.

Rosie shrugged a little. That all changed when he stuck out his tongue. As soon as he did Rosie kissed him and then giggled because she knew he wouldn't understand. She smiled and whispered.

Must be why I gotta still like ya. I gotta thing for old men. That brought more giggles.

Oh.My.God. Taiki couldn't even say anything. His face was beet red and he stared at her with wiiiiiiide eyes. He finally buried his face in his hands.

"Neko ni katsuobushi!" A little outburst in Japanese. "You are going to send me to an early grave, Miss Marshall. I do not think this couch has seen so much affection in quite a while." He dropped one hand back to his lap and peeked out at her from under the other, face still red but smiling just a little.

Rosie just giggled like a little girl. Ain't gonna kill ya gettin' a kiss from pretty girl.

Rosie pouted. Ain't no couch should be too long without some kissin'.

"It is common knowledge among little gay boys that all girls have deadly germs." Yes, his retaliation has resorted to this. "I have not been kissed by a girl in..." He looked up at the ceiling, counting back. "Over 14 years. And it was my mother, then. You are upsetting the homo/hetero ratio of my kisses." Only Taiki could explain something like this with a straight face. "At the very least it may turn me horribly straight, and then Shuichi will be cross with you." He teased.

"And no, it should not. But it is a homo couch, as well." He snagged the pillow he had been leaning against to show her. "You see, the pillows are color coordinated."

Ain't got nothin' but boy germs. Rosie giggled. I ain't straight darlin'. Not doin' nothin' ta your kissin'.

Rosie hadn't said that to many people but for some reason it came out naturally with Taiki. Ya ain't goin' straight over a kiss?

Rosie snatched the pillow laughing more. Got coordinated pillow back home too an' Jonna ain't goin' for anythin' but pretty girls.
