Spring arrived in Humboldt County with a vengance this year. The ever-so-recently barren tree limbs have burst to life in chaotic sprays of glowing green. Stupid Period has me feeling low and extra anti-social. Feeling like an outsider looking in on something I thought I was a part of. It came a little early this year. Campus was closed on Friday because of the tsunami warning that we had here as a result of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Such a tragedy. This past weekend, Jake and I finally took out the kayaks that my mom and her friend Sylvia gave us. Sylvia bought them, but they didn't like them "because you have to sit too low in them". Jake and I are still training for the Pacific Crest Trail. Our goal is 100 miles per month, minimum, right now, and then to start building up the weight in our packs.
