definitely the blue bird (1940) with shirley temple. (i have it--it was always a favourite of mine when i was a kid--and i'm 44 years old now!)

you are more than welcome. (i almost never know any of the answers for things people are asking about, but i jumped on this one!) you have a very good memory, btw--you recalled a lot of the info for a movie you haven't seen in years.

i hope maybe you'll get the chance to see it again sometime soon--it's held up very well over time.
