I think #2 is Matinee, but it was 1993, not in the 80s.

Yes! That makes sense; I was about 9 when I saw it, and I thought it was ~really old~ but I'm sure I was just confusing the late 80s with the early 90s.

If you like Matinee you may want to do a little research on William Castle. He was a real director/producer who used gimmicks like that.
