"Twas mine," George admitted cheerfully. This hadn't been what he was expecting. Admittedly even after a year and a half at Fandom, George Cooper didn't have the vocabulary to begin imagining Kyle's world. "Tis been too long t'be friends wit' th' lad and not ever seen his home."
He was talking lightly, but the hair on the back of his neck was standing up as he tried to pay attention to every bit of the environment.
Kyle beat Derek to the punch. Not an actual punch, since it was George, but a verbal one. "You know there's a good chance you're not ever going home, that you'll never see your mom again. What are you doing?"
"No need t'borrow trouble," he said, shrugging. "We'll cross that bridge when we run into it. Besides me mam'll just be pleased I'm not wit' th'Rogues Court."

This wasn't the future Sarah Connor had warned her son about. John, not the John sitting at the desk here, but some version of John had seen to it that things were changed. Skynet had done its own work, sending back operatives in an effort to terminate John Connor and end the human threat once and for all. Little did Skynet know that its interference had been the one to cause John's existence in the first place

John nodded slowly. "And you're not." The resemblance was unnerving with Terminators that could look like humans. They were alone in the room though, something John wouldn't have allowed if he thought the boy was a machine. He was a result of universes with a sense of humor and time travel gone awry. "My mother thought you were John Connor too."

"Only was once for about a weekend," he said, quirking a bit of a smile that empathised with the look-a-like situation. "'M pretty happy tisn't a permanent situation. No offense or nothin'."
George couldn't help raising an eyebrow though, his brain supplying more than a few scenarios where that might happen. "Y'know, that sounds like somethin' y'd do though..." It was half a joke.
He was taking this far more seriously than it sounded.
