Kyle's backpack was heavy and the change in air burned his lungs. The portal had been moved closer to HQ, saving a long, dangerous trek from the old Tech-Com base to the new underground facility.
Derek was there to meet him at a building closest to the portal. As much as he was glad to see his brother, Kyle couldn't bring himself to smile. Derek saw why when he saw George Cooper walking up behind Kyle.
