[A garage? Peter scratches his head. That was unexpected.]

Aha! That, pal, is the question that... er, YOU should be asking! Why DID I call the garage asking for pizza?

...I called a garage? I really just dialed randomly, but...hm. Answer this for me, then. Which garage did I call? What town are you located in?

But I'm asking you mate.

Actually you probably called everyone in this troppo town, the phone line is a mite tetchy. But I guess that's one way t' get yerself a pizza. The town's called Mayfield. You must be new.

*Though from the way Sniper talks it sounds like you may have called a garage in Australia. That's gonna be a harsh delivery charge.*

[What in the...! Who did he just call? Crocodile Dundee? He'd better not be charging for long distance...]

Uh... yes. Yes I am, obviously, because I did not know all of that, there. Hm.

...Say, does Australia make good pizza?

How about this: You give me a pizza, and I'll clue you in to what's going on.

[Peter snaps his fingers. NOW he's getting somewhere! Someone with answers! And all he had to do was bring him...]

A pizza? ...Wait, where the heck am I supposed to get a pizza? I don't even know where...

Hey! Don't play games with me! YOU'RE the pizza restaurant here! Why don't YOU give you a pizza!

Because, stupid, I ain't a damn pizza restaurant.

I dunno what game you're playing, but haven't you noticed anything weird about this place already?

You mean... like how there are all these pictures of me spread throughout the house, as if I've been living here for years? Or the fact that I'm on the phone with Not-Pizza-Guy-Guy? Or the fact that I'm even in this house to begin with?

...Nope. Nothing strange here.

You said you had some idea of what's going down here?

[Kono remembers making that frantic phone call to see if she could reach her friends or family. Was it really a month ago already? It's weird being on the other side of these calls with a little bit of a clue as to what's going on.]

Drastic measures are ordering a pizza? Might wanna check your priorities, brah.

Unfortunately, you're not going to get through to your family with the phone. Not that I've figured out anyway.

[He jumps a little. He had half-expected to hear silence. Or maybe a gruff Italian voice asking what size he wanted.]

A-HA! The pizza was a clever ploy! ...To get a response, or takeout or something! Anyway! Why did you bring me here? Who are you?!

[He pauses, realizing she sounded like she was also struggling with the phones].

Wait. You aren't by any chance... also trapped in The Town That Time Forgot, are you?

[Wow this guy's a bit of a spazz isn't he? She can just tell.]

Yeah, far as anybody can tell we're all trapped. Different places, different times, different... planets even. We're all stuck in 1950's middle America suburbia.

I'm Kono. Who's this?

[Peter groans and slumps to the floor. Just what he needs. ANOTHER gathering of heroes on an extra-dimensional plane... still, this one seems kind of... stupid. Less floating planets, more... shrubbery.]

Kono, huh? Well, um... I'm Peter. I guess it's nice to know I'm not the only one sane one here. Wait... just how many of us are there?

Well, a man has priorities. Said priorities typically are safety, family, working for a living and watching LOST, buuuut since I can't seem to do any of those... guess food comes next?

(And maybe a few nervous breakdowns for dessert.)

...You don't sound like a pizza delivery girl to me.

I'm willing to take that as a compliment just to spare you a lot of hurt otherwise.

Welcome to Mayfield, kid. I'm sure you'll get filled in soon enough.

[Yeesh. Definitely not a pizza delivery girl. Maybe a Registry of Motor Vehicles worker.]

Wow. That is... the most ominous welcome I think I've ever received.

[Actually, Doc Ock gives some pretty bad ones, but she doesn't need to know that. Supervillains specialize in that kind of thing, he thinks. She's probably not a supervillain though.)

If you're lucky, no one's killed the pizza kid yet today.

Wh-what? That's, that's a likely thing that might happen!?

[Jeez! Where the hell did he end up? Guantanamo Bay?!]

Someone should go help him then! I mean, most pizza kids I've met are either jerks or braindead, but that doesn't mean they should get whacked!

I've tried! But some people here really like picking off the drones for no good reason.

I mean- uh, welcome to Mayfield!

Suddenly, I don't feel like pizza anymore. It's obviously a disturbingly precious commodity here. Like water, or skinny jeans.

Mayfield... is that where I am? Funny how pleasant it sounds... for everyone but pizza people. And drones, I guess. Drones are what, exactly...?
