Four and a half innings down, four and a half left to play.

The second half of the game starts now, with the Paradoxes taking their places on the field, and the Enigmas once again coming to bat.

Grace is back, dropping something in the dirt and swinging her bat on the way to the plate. She gets into position. Only then does she blow a steady stream of smoke out the side of her mouth.

If asked, she'll say smoking helps her focus.

Duo raises an eyebrow at her. "I'm starting to think you're following me, lady. I'd tell you I don't put out on the first date, but judging by my pitching, that'd be a lie..."

He winds up and delivers a ball juuuuust on the edge of the strike zone. Could be in, could be out.

Grace laughs.

He squints trying to tell if it was fair or not. Those are hard to control.

Grace isn't choosy about her pitches. She doesn't much see the point. If you can get your bat around to hit it, hit it!

She hits the knuckleball, throws the bat off to the side and starts running.

It's a fly ball heading somewhere near left field, but with any luck the Paradox outfielders will tangle themselves into a knot trying to catch it.

Sadly, Duo's survival instincts are a little rustier than those belonging to most ninjas.

He gets his glove up in time, at least?

The ball smacks into his glove, and then his glove smacks into his chest. His feet catch on the edge of the pitcher's plate, and Duo tips over like a bowling pin.
