On topic: After reading both drabbles, I almost begin to wonder exactly why I like Raito so much. (It definitely isn't because of his 'stellar personality'.) But I think that you hit directly on what it is which makes him a fascinating fellow: his descent from bored!genius!student to genius!manipulative!murderer. What makes that though somewhat chilling, if you will, is the fact that he can't rightfully be called 'crazy'...at least I don't think so, even if his ideals are rather warped. But he knows exactly what he is doing; he's manipulating everything and everyone; and he's got the brainpower to do it. The way you wrote him, he sounds very much in control of his actions and thoughts, and as cunning as ever ( ... )
