Potomac Point Abbinato 2009
Potomac Point Winery is not far from my house. It's probably the closest winery. As such we have been there several times, and been through there full tasting flight each time. Mattaponi Merlot 2010
Mattaponi Winery is not so much a business as an overgrow hobby. We visited the winery, which is on the way home from VaRF, a few weeks ago. The tasting room is the enclosed deck of the wine maker's house. OK, it's a rely nice enclosed deck, but is still an enclosed deck. We talked to the wine maker, who was also serving the tastings. Old town Alexandria Vintners' Reserve
This is a bottle of Pinot Grigio by Prince Michel Vineyard. We visited Prince Michel back in the spring, and liked several of there wines at the time, but this bottle came as part of Kristi's wine of the month club. Willowcroft Chardonnay Reserve 2009
This is a pleasant wine from a very nice vineyard. We visited Willowcroft about two months ago when we picked up this bottle. It has a lovely crisp oak taste with a touch of smokyness. Dry and firm. A disapointing Finish
After a nice steak dinner, and an ice cream treat, my lady love and I snuggle on the couch to watch a movie and share a bottle of wine. The wine was Rosato Di Sangiovese from Ingleside Winery in the Northern Neck of Virginia. This is a light red wine of a pale rose color with strawberry and flowers on the nose.
