For those who might be coming early or staying late for VividCon, The Field Museum is hosting the Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibit. If anyone is interested in going, we could organize a field trip. Heh - get it? Field!

*cough*

Yes.

Oooh, "Black Orpheus." And at the Music Box, no less! Last time I was in Chicago proper (which was, um, almost two years ago now, I guess) you mentioned the Music Box to me, and I wound up going there for a midnight showing of the Blues Brothers after the wedding I was at wrapped up...

I wish I could stay long enough to play. But even if all I see is the inside of the Springhill Suites, I am so excited to be coming anyway!

If you're going to Tut, I definitely recommend getting tickets in advance. We tend to sell out around lunch time.

Seeing King Tut again. Which ticket? redina July 18 2006, 21:12:04 UTC
I think I saw the Tut exhibit years ago at the NY Met Museum and enjoyed it.

I'm guessing the most expensive ticket, Tutankhamun and Underground Adventure (Includes Museum Admission - "Platinum Pass"), is the one with the most options? Though, I was thinking about buying a CityPass that combines multiple exhibits at a discounted rate. The online price for the Tut exhibit includes the general admission, which would duplicate the gen admission from the CityPass.

Realistically, I'm estimating I may make it to only four of the five attractions (Museum of Science, Field Museum, Shedd, and Adler) on Thursday (flight arriving 8-9am). Would like to see the Oriental Museum too and Lincoln Park/Zoo but don't think I'll make it that far. Millennium Park is between attractions (had a map and was trying to figure out a schedule - plus, I had an old transit schedule to get an estimate) and easy to speck out on the way.

I don't have to be at the airport until 7-8pm on Sunday and may try to squeeze some tourist time in then as well.

Just between you and me, I don't really think you need to see Underground Adventure. Plus, if you're going to three other museums that day (which by the way, wow!!), then you might be oversaturated anyway.

Your proposed schedule is quite awe-inspiring. I take it you're a hardcore tourist?

I can't make it to VVC this year, but I appreciate you posting this information. I'll keep these kinds of events in mind for next year!
