I am really sick of meeting people who say things to Aaron like; “Dude, how did you get her to marry you?” “What drugs are you giving her?” “You married way out of your league.”  “Is she blind?” And I’m sick of people saying things to me like; “Are you being held against your will?”  “Have the roofies worn off yet?” “Was this an arranged marriage?” ( Read more... )

Give 'em more than daggers in the eyes, open up a can of verbal whoop ass on them. tell them just what you put here, that while they mean it with good intentions it's insulting.

Yeah, I can understand why that would make you cranky. Try to look at it this way, most guys would give their eye teeth to be in Doc's shoes. It's kind of an inside joke between men that when we do land a wife, we've married above our station (and it's usually true.) For the record, I can see clearly why you married Doc: He's an exceptional person.

Clearly that would only be said by people who don't really know y'all. It's a rare treat to see two people who are so great together!

Actually I do usually employ some variation of the third suggestion. It works well.

People, in general, suck.

I say shoot the eye daggers and turn your back on people if you want to! Ooo!! Or go Velociraptor on their ass.

That'll learn them.

Of course, the people who say those kinds of things are probably insecure anyway. They don't know you... they don't know Aaron... they have no idea how perfect you are for each other. So screw the haters. their opinions only matter to themselves.
