Did anyone see the entire second season of Loki and feel like talking about it? My dad's out of the question because he's been lost this season, which is weird to me when he's watched decades of Doctor Who.
Watching fic writers react to the finale on AO3 has been a trip. (

...also agreed re: the tree. ow. the historic photo says so much more about what matters...or does it? change the times, and you've got an entirely different meaning going on. so goeth society. nngh.

The first Rockefeller tree was personal and meaningful, making the most of what you have, celebrating together. Then Rockefeller Center's management started doing it officially in 1933 and every year since, and in my opinion, it's become a luxe symbol of excess and waste over time. Though people apparently travel long distances just so they can say they visited the tree in person during the holidays. (Though who knows if the tradition would've started if those blue-collar construction workers in desperate times hadn't kicked it off.)
