I have never had as many pre-employment hoops to jump through for a job before.  It turns out, I have to show them I am legally able to work in the US (not a difficult one), get a drug screen (which was more difficult to get than I had thought, a bit of a long story), have a successful background check, get tested for TB and other illnesses, and I ( Read more... )

I just got a call, and I got the industry job!!  I am so excited.  I will be starting on Tuesday. I am very excited.  I now don't have to do a group interview at Kohls.  I really don't mind missing out on a group interview.  

I had my interview yesterday with my former boss Dan.  He said I had nothing to worry about, and that I would know by either Friday or Monday.  I just hope the background check business doesn't some how mess up.  If I get the job, there is very real chance that i can work my way up by the time I graduate so that I won't have to try and find another ( Read more... )

I may have just been saved.  My former boss from the chemistry stockroom needs an assistant at his new work.  He called me today to tell me this.  I am really excited about this chance.  I'd get to work with Dan again, which would be absolutely amazing, plus it would be $14 an hour instead of the 7.75 I am making at the library.  Also if I get the ( Read more... )

So finding a career is depressing.  I have been searching around as to what is available, and frankly nothing sounds any better than anything else at this point.  I don't know anymore, school sucks, but settling down with a job is worse.  I at least know what I have to do when I am at school ( Read more... )
