The first thing to come to the dancer's mind was that this, all of this, simply wasn't right. He wasn't supposed to be here (wherever "here" was). In fact, the last thing he clearly remembered, he had been in Comodo, getting ready to leave the Theater for the night. Now, somehow, he was in a place he didn't quite recognize, surrounded by people he also didn't recognize, all of whom seemed just as confused as he was, if not a bit angrier. He couldn't blame them, really, the poor things. After all, he couldn't imagine that anybody would be happy to be dragged from wherever they had been to a strange place in the middle of the night ( ... )

Kaite's eyes flickered toward the man- man, he noted with some mild disappointed- that addressed him first. While he had no objections to the whole 'honey' thing, he had to admit he would have much preferred it from someone a little more... female.

"Well, I did say join, but the truth of the matter is we were the ones more assigned to you guys." A hand came up to tap at his cheek in thought, as if considering the other's words. Thankfully, they were much less angry and weapon-throwing (whose bright idea had it been to leave the foreigners armed?) than he'd been expecting the group to be.

"Would telling you you're in the UMA camp in Ash Vacuum be of any help? Because if that does make sense of you, I'll have to have a talk with someone about tossing their own people in among the portal foreigners. We're not a charity case after all."

Under normal circumstances, Nayan would have been incredibly amused that the man seemed a little disappointed when he realized who exactly had spoken. Normally, he would have abused that for all he was worth. Right now, however, he was far too confused to do anything of the sort. The things he was hearing, the places, none of it sounded familiar.

If he knew what the other man had been thinking, however, Nayan would have laughed. The dancer was hardly inclined the tantrums, thankfully, especially towards strangers who could potentially give him things he wanted. Catty behavior? Yes. The occasional retaliation if he felt you deserved it? Certainly! But never tantrums. Those were hardly elegant or sophisticated.

"UMA? Ash Vacuum?" he asked, shaking his head in mild amusement. "There's no place with those names in Midgard, honey."

So he knew about Midgard, but not the UMA or Ash Vacuum? Now that was interesting. Kaite could have thought that the other man was perhaps one of the islanders who'd somehow taken a wrong turn on some... boat somewhere, but the man lacked any sort of identifying accent. Stranger and stranger.

"That's because this camp technically isn't in Midgard. Ash Vacuum, at least. The scientists say we're in another dimension or world, one or the other. The Sleipnir and the rest of our branch of the guild are back in the Sograt Desert though." Kaite kept his eyes on Nayan as he talked, curious to see if any other name mentions would catch his attention.

Cassidy (the awkward one near the door) visibly winced when the accusation came, though the wolf seemed not to mind the following question at all. Crime family? Absurd! As if he could possibly be a part of the Rogues- he wouldn't survive in such an environment. Shots? The redhead wasn't sure what Apollo could be referring to. Who shot their own partner?

But it was understandable that this person would be speaking nonsense. He would be, too, if he had popped out of a blue, glowy...thing. Wearing a smile he hoped was friendly, Cassidy tried to explain.

"You, um. They found you in camp...?"

How informative!

Cassidy relaxed an inch, relieved to have Apollo's anger diverted. "They don't know. Theoretically, you all should have come from the Dimensional Gorge, but the guards hadn't seen any of you and they're pretty strict about who's allowed inside, so..." He shrugged, then asked cautiously, "Where are you from?"

There was that suspicion that maybe these strangers were somehow related to Satan Morroc. As they had come from the very portal the demon had used to escape Midgard, it wasn't exactly a far stretch to think so. Apollo certainly didn't seem like a demon, but one could never be sure.

It was pretty difficult to miss Koma and her eye-catching pink, but it's her set of ears and tail that earn a surprised stare from Cassidy. The first thing that came to his mind was a Wild Rose, but Wild Roses were certainly neither pink nor human-looking. Sograt, the desert wolf, also had her attention fixed on the woman, head cocked slightly in curiosity.

After a beat in which he realized he should have responded, Cassidy said, a little hesitantly, "I'm not sure you have a choice..."

Both Sograt and Cassidy's attention on Koma increased as she suffered said wave of vertigo. Why was it that these strangers were so weak after coming through the portal? No one on this side had ever faced anything of the sort when they traveled through it. These people were definitely different from them...

Perhaps the gentlemanly thing to do was to go to her side, but Cassidy was too wary to do anything other than watch her from his position near the door. "There's no 'Endless Frontier' in Midgard - that I know of. We're not sure how you or the others arrived here." He paused, wondering how much information he should be divulging to her. Then he shook his head. He was being too paranoid. These people were Whispers of Loki's charge now- they might as well know the basics. "Here, being the Midgard Excavation Camp in Ash Vacuum, run by the United Midgard Alliance after Satan Morroc fled through the same portal you came from."

Kanda didn't so much awake as blink against the glow, only dimly aware of the time that had passed since he had closed his eyes on the echo of departing laughter. Gaze unfocused, his breath coming in slow automatic rhythm, his fingers twitched minutely against his own bare skin.

Gone. The word floated through his mind dimly, its object present only in its absence, in the space where the brittle obsidian darkness of Alma's body had once been. Against the naked skin of his chest, he'd cradled that wretched body while it crumbled, his own antithesis of Pygmalion's ivory idol. Alma. And yet was it any surprise that the body had gone? Never really Kanda's to hold at all, it had at last been no more than a hollow shell, no longer a home for the spirits that departed it. And so long an imperfect home, anyway--with larders too often stripped bare, its cracks taped over by the Order's calipers and sutures as though to disguise the disrepair; it was only ever held together by lies and a decoupage of scripture and yellowed bible pages. What was ( ... )

The battle Allen had emerged from was not a kind or impersonal one. Though battle was rarely kind, they didn’t always strike as hard as this one had done. The onslaught to Allen’s senses had been like a hurricane-bearing witness to Kanda and Alma’s tragic past, one of the hidden truths of the Black Order being unveiled, the revival of Alma and the furious, bloody battle that had ensued, the awakening of the 14th Noah inside of Allen, Allen’s discovery of who and what Alma Karma really was to Kanda, and his choice to disobey the Order to send the two of them away for their final farewells. This all also encompassed the Third Exorcists becoming consumed by Alma’s hatred and transformation into horrifying monsters. It had consumed Tokusa, and it had consumed Tevak ( ... )

The fact that Kanda turned at all was something, Allen couldn't deny that, but he also could not deny that the way Kanda had turned to stare was not in its way incredibly worrying to him.

He held his breath as the other exorcist both looked at him and didn't at the same time, trying to read something in him in that moment that didn't just say loud and clear that Kanda Yuu was broken on many levels.

Allen swallowed thickly, his throat feeling dry and his senses whirling. He didn't know what to say or do, and it was about that point that the two figures had wandered in. Allen's eyes moved swiftly toward them as they stood in the hut with the rest of the supposed prisoners, an odd sense of protectiveness washing over him as his grip tightened on Kanda's shoulder just a little.

"What's going on here?" He demanded, not caring which of the two took it upon themselves to hear his questions "Why are we being detained here like this? What is this place? And what has this guild you're talking about got to do with any of us?"

Ava shut her eyes tight against the glow of the blue light and cautiously felt around with her hand. Or tried to, anyway. When she found she could barely even fidget, she started to panic. What happened...? Was this a dream? Even as she tried to snap her eyes open, it was hard work, and when she finally did, all these strange people picked her up ( ... )

... Well now this was certainly more up his alley. She was a cute one, one quick glance could tell hi that easily, but immediately hitting on the foreigners was something he'd been explicitly instructed not to do. Ingram had said to at least give them a five minute break before moving in. ... Though, Ingram hadn't said he couldn't flirt.

Kaite took care to keep his distance from the woman; even from this distance he could see the look of panic and wariness in her eyes, and crouched down a little. Forcing a young lady to strain her neck just to look at him would have been rude, after all.

"Whispers of Loki, though I'll have to suggest that name change to Ingram some day. It's cute." His face took on a more serious look for a moment, pushing back the brim of his cap and studying the woman's body with a look that was blatantly professional.

"Are you still feeling disorientated? I wonder if a heal would help the recovery process, but I have no idea if it would be all right to expose your bodies to magic so soon..."

It was good that Kaite kept his distance because otherwise Ava probably would've toppled back she would have tried to scoot back so fast. As it were, she did inch back a little when he crouched down.

"... Sorry," she said. Was there something different about her hearing? Usually, she didn't make a mistake like that... "Um." What? Heal? Magic? That was definitely a clue she wasn't home (so far as she knew). "Am I in another universe...?"

"Yes. They think so, at least. The scientists running this camp, I mean. Either way it's fairly obvious you guys aren't from Midgard, or even the same universe altogether." A quick glance over the group gave away that much easily; the clothing, belongings, too many of them were completely unfamiliar to Kaite and he'd supported nearly every class there was to support.

"This is the Ash Vacuum, a dimension just recently discovered. We'll be taking you back to our world soon though."
