The first thing to come to the dancer's mind was that this, all of this, simply wasn't right. He wasn't supposed to be here (wherever "here" was). In fact, the last thing he clearly remembered, he had been in Comodo, getting ready to leave the Theater for the night. Now, somehow, he was in a place he didn't quite recognize, surrounded by people he also didn't recognize, all of whom seemed just as confused as he was, if not a bit angrier. He couldn't blame them, really, the poor things. After all, he couldn't imagine that anybody would be happy to be dragged from wherever they had been to a strange place in the middle of the night.
Of course, now he had to wonder how they had gotten here in the first place. Had magic brought them there? But, no, he couldn't recall ever having seen any magic that looked quite like that glow outside, and he had seen his fair share of it. So how had they gotten here? For that matter, where was "here", anyway?
Frowning, Nayan twisted a little to peer at the person next to him, ready to ask them if they knew anything, when the door opening caught his attention. Immediately, his head turned towards the door, eyes widening a bit as two people and a wolf entered the room. Fortunately, the wolf seemed to stay close to one of them (which meant it wasn't there to attack them; a fact Nayan was very pleased to note), while the other stepped forward and spoke. It took him a moment to process everything that he had said, of course. Since when had he joined a guild that wasn't the bards and the dancers? He couldn't recall having agreed to that, much less anything else when he had been all but picked up and shoved in here without so much as a by-your-leave.
He had to fix this. "Excuse me, honey~" Hopefully the green one wouldn't mind the endearment. "But I don't recall agreeing to join anything, not to mention that you haven't even told us where we are." They had the right to know that, at least, didn't they?
Kaite's eyes flickered toward the man- man, he noted with some mild disappointed- that addressed him first. While he had no objections to the whole 'honey' thing, he had to admit he would have much preferred it from someone a little more... female.
"Well, I did say join, but the truth of the matter is we were the ones more assigned to you guys." A hand came up to tap at his cheek in thought, as if considering the other's words. Thankfully, they were much less angry and weapon-throwing (whose bright idea had it been to leave the foreigners armed?) than he'd been expecting the group to be.
"Would telling you you're in the UMA camp in Ash Vacuum be of any help? Because if that does make sense of you, I'll have to have a talk with someone about tossing their own people in among the portal foreigners. We're not a charity case after all."
Under normal circumstances, Nayan would have been incredibly amused that the man seemed a little disappointed when he realized who exactly had spoken. Normally, he would have abused that for all he was worth. Right now, however, he was far too confused to do anything of the sort. The things he was hearing, the places, none of it sounded familiar.
If he knew what the other man had been thinking, however, Nayan would have laughed. The dancer was hardly inclined the tantrums, thankfully, especially towards strangers who could potentially give him things he wanted. Catty behavior? Yes. The occasional retaliation if he felt you deserved it? Certainly! But never tantrums. Those were hardly elegant or sophisticated.
"UMA? Ash Vacuum?" he asked, shaking his head in mild amusement. "There's no place with those names in Midgard, honey."
So he knew about Midgard, but not the UMA or Ash Vacuum? Now that was interesting. Kaite could have thought that the other man was perhaps one of the islanders who'd somehow taken a wrong turn on some... boat somewhere, but the man lacked any sort of identifying accent. Stranger and stranger.
"That's because this camp technically isn't in Midgard. Ash Vacuum, at least. The scientists say we're in another dimension or world, one or the other. The Sleipnir and the rest of our branch of the guild are back in the Sograt Desert though." Kaite kept his eyes on Nayan as he talked, curious to see if any other name mentions would catch his attention.
It took Nayan a moment to call to mind his mental map of Midgard, trying to piece together where things were in relation to Sograt Desert. The dancer had never been particularly good at geography, but when you spent the majority of your time in one place, what did you need to know the rest for? Warps could take you pretty much anywhere you wanted to go, and there were the airships for the rest of it. Thus, Nayan had abandoned the more obscure geographical concepts for things he had deemed more important.
He was beginning to wish he hadn't.
"So we're near Morroc?" That was right, wasn't it? But if that was true, then how could there be some sort of alternate dimension inside of it? That didn't make any sense. Then again, he didn't know anything about guilds other than the class guilds, so perhaps he had somehow stumbled into some bizarre alternate reality. Or perhaps he was dreaming! This would be an interesting one to tell the girls when he woke up. Normally his dreams were nowhere near this elaborate.
"The portal entrance in Midgard to this world is, at least. ... What's left of Morroc, anyway." Though he'd muttered the last bit mostly to himself, the frown on his face was still fairly obvious. There's no way that this guy could have been from the Midgard he knew; everyone knew about Morroc and nearly everyone referred to it as the Morroc Ruins by now. There wasn't much left of the city, after all.
"I can't give you all the information about the portals, all I know is the general knowledge being released. What I can tell you is that they don't know how to send you back to wherever you came from and the UMA doesn't want to keep you here, so they're giving you guys to us."
There had been something else after the other man had confirmed that Nayan had, apparently, not failed at geography as he had thought. It was a whisper, inaudible to anyone else not around him, and the dancer had never been very good at reading lips. Besides, for all he knew, it might have been private.
"They're forcing us on you? That's not very nice of them." Whoever the UMA actually was, anyway. Some sort of organization, that much he was able to figure out, but that told him nothing about who they were or what they were even doing here. Maybe someone else might know.
"Government-created organizations usually never are. But if any government official asks you, I just said they're all glowing examples of all that is right with the world. Or at least something along those lines." Kaite had to admit that this guy was taking things much better than he'd expected, and it was somewhat of a relief. Getting yelled at for things beyond his control had never been something he enjoyed or preferred really, despite how often it seemed to happen.
"I guess we can probably settle out things back in Midgard. It seems like you're from there, but not at the same time."
Now that was a curious thing to say, wasn't it? It was interesting. Intriguing. More so than this mysterious government organization. Right now, they were hardly even a factor. Curious, the dancer leaned forward, a little smirk upon his face.
"'Not at the same time?' There's only one Midgard, isn't there?" Now he was certain this was a dream. He'd have to make note of every single little detail from here on out so he could tell the girls later. They'd think it was hilarious, he was sure.
Kaite returned that little smirk with an amused smile of his own, though he couldn't help but lean back a bit when Nayan leaned in. Some memories just didn't fade away that easily, especially when they involved Ingram's traumatizing presence.
"I used to believe there was only one world, but this place's existence is pretty clear evidence that it's not. We're all running a little blind right now, but Whispers of Loki will be doing our best to take care of you all."
Nayan supposed that, really, it was a good thing that these people had happened upon them and not some vicious monster out in the middle of the desert. Even if he hadn't agreed to joining this guild of theirs, they were being taken care of, which was more than he could say for anything else around here. The last time he had been to Morroc, the people he had come across had been less than accommodating. These people, however, were being terribly inconvenienced, yet they were being taken care of. It was a nice thought, really.
"We appreciate it, honey, really, and if you're taking care of us, I suppose we'll have to be good for you, hmm?"
Did that mean Kaite was the sort who liked to cause trouble for his companions (or specifically this Ingram, whoever he was)? He'd certainly have to keep an eye on him, if that was the case. Nayan had never met anybody like that who wore a priest uniform before. At least he wasn't boring like the others were.
"Oh, poor thing! I'm afraid I'll disappoint him terribly then!"
Another wave of his hand and another playful smile.
"He'll get over it eventually, I'm sure. We'll have plenty of time to get to know each other's charming personalities as well. It seems like we've got a mixed bunch here, and I know that our usual crew doesn't quite fall under normal for our classes."
An understatement if he'd ever said one, but Nayan could find that bit out on his own.

"Oh, please don't, Ingram was looking forward to having to deal with an unruly bunch. You'll break his poor heart by being cooperative."
