It was pretty difficult to miss Koma and her eye-catching pink, but it's her set of ears and tail that earn a surprised stare from Cassidy. The first thing that came to his mind was a Wild Rose, but Wild Roses were certainly neither pink nor human-looking. Sograt, the desert wolf, also had her attention fixed on the woman, head cocked slightly in curiosity.
After a beat in which he realized he should have responded, Cassidy said, a little hesitantly, "I'm not sure you have a choice..."
Both Sograt and Cassidy's attention on Koma increased as she suffered said wave of vertigo. Why was it that these strangers were so weak after coming through the portal? No one on this side had ever faced anything of the sort when they traveled through it. These people were definitely different from them...
Perhaps the gentlemanly thing to do was to go to her side, but Cassidy was too wary to do anything other than watch her from his position near the door. "There's no 'Endless Frontier' in Midgard - that I know of. We're not sure how you or the others arrived here." He paused, wondering how much information he should be divulging to her. Then he shook his head. He was being too paranoid. These people were Whispers of Loki's charge now- they might as well know the basics. "Here, being the Midgard Excavation Camp in Ash Vacuum, run by the United Midgard Alliance after Satan Morroc fled through the same portal you came from."
Cassidy balked at her comment, quickly averting his eyes. Charging because he's staring... Well, it's not like he meant to stare...! He rubbed the exposed area of his neck, returning his attention to her while avoiding direct eye contact, and made to address her questions. Sograt simply gave her an ear-flick.
"... Sure?" He had no idea what a 'cross gate' was, but maybe it was similar to a portal. "They think you're from another dimension. Well, yes, if you're unfamiliar with Midgard and came through the portal, then that would be the logical conclusion..." He was mostly talking to himself now. The scientists had given them a brief lowdown, but Cassidy was still in the process of integrating it into his understanding of the world. "So until they can figure out why the portal has brought you here, you're being kept under the guild."
"That's a good question," slipped out before he could think better. Embarrassed, Cassidy inhaled a very deep and loud breath, hoping to cover up his goof. "Uh- Uh. Right. Well, then... Who are you?"
Koma. Okay, that wasn't too bad. He could work with that. "That won't what?" he prompted, eyes glancing at her claws again. It was just...odd. Odd to see animalistic features on a woman that was obviously not a monster. He wondered how others would react to her. It wouldn't be very good if someone decided to attack her, as understandable as that paranoia may be in these times.
"Well," he said, smiling a little nervously, "you'll probably the only 'werecat' here." For now, anyway. He could already imagine the hubbub she might stir up in the city. Not to mention amongst the Hunters. There were sure to be some who would try to catch her.
