I roam around, around, around...

Dark clouds lay scattered low in the sky as the sun began to rise. Slowly, it lit up the clouds from below. Navy and violet clouds gave way to pinks and oranges, but nothing was so striking as the way the sun seemed to set fire to the rest of the sky. It was a beautiful, but uncommon sight in Vertiline, and it made many of the villagers of Eider ( Read more... )

Naturally, Terry had to follow the path once he noticed it had cleared. He hadn't found anything interesting yet ... well, unless you count the creepy as hell shadow that's been following him all day. It didn't look like the one he encountered last time, but it made him a little nervous, nonetheless.

Bruce had the same mindset, having ventured into the fog shortly after sunset. He stayed on the path for two reasons: it seemed to be the safest and the odd shape following him never ventured far enough onto the path to attack. When he noticed the shape of the building off in the distance, he scaled a tree to get a better view.

His gaze was hard as he studied the structure before he caught movement out of the corner of his eye. And thankfully it was just Terry. Bruce dropped silently and began approaching the younger Batman quietly.

Terry's hand shot to his belt and he'd flicked out a mechanical batarang, poised to throw when he whirled around to meet Bruce. Straightening up, he narrowed his eyes and closed it, slipping it back into his belt.

"Sneaking up on people is only fun when I do it," he grumbled, voice kept low.

Bruce simply smirked. "Who's sneaking?" He strolled past the teenager, walking just a little ways ahead on the path. "Have you found anything?" He asked, before turning around to look at Terry.

If there's one thing that Kevas doesn't like it's being followed...and squirrels. By the Loa he hates squirrels, but that's a story for another time. Right now that shadow is bugging the hell out of him. Every time he catches sight of it his hands carefully slip down to his axes. Whatever it is, if it's going to attack he's going to be ready.

When Kevas spots the building lights begin to go off in his head. Well isn't this convenient. Shelter appears just when a storm begins to roll around. Still, only a fool would stay out in a storm when there's shelter nearby. If it's a trap then he'll just have to be ready for it.

It's so convenient Kevas. Too convenient? Only time will tell.

It is dry inside, however. At least, so far. There is the sound of some water nearby. A pool? A small fountain? It's hard to tell without any light.

Perhaps one of those conveniently placed torches by the door would help.

Dry is good. Dry is very good, but Kevas will go without the torch. For years he's spent his time skulking around in the darkness. By now he's quite accustom to it. Scent and hearing will make up for whatever he lacks in sight.

Kevas silently and slowly creeps towards the source of the sound.

He'll have a little ways to walk. The room he's in is fairly large, and the noise seems to be coming from beyond it.

To the right there's a doorway, and it's through there that the sound of water comes.

As for the scent of the room, well, it's rather dusty inside. Enough so that when he creeps in, it kicks up some of that dust. It unfortunately is rather thick and might obscure anything else he might smell...

Seth had been watching the sky with interest, understanding probably more than most that a storm was on it's way. The sight, combined with the fog falling back and giving him more land to roam was enough to put him in a damn good mood.

And then the shadow in the fog had appeared, catching his attention and nagging at him to go check it out. Rifle slung across his back, ammunition and his hunting knife at his side, Seth started towards the dark shape. A short, shrill whistle would bring his dog, thus far unnamed, to trot happily beside him.

What he'd first half hoped was a golem was in fact a building. Seeing as there was nothing else for him to be doing, Seth decided to check it out.

The building was rather larger than a golem. Clearly a two story structure, it sat surrounded by gently sloping hills. At least, Seth might have been able to see the hills behind him or before him if it wasn't for the clouds, fog, darkness, and the rain that was starting to fall.

The wind blew through the tower, sending a low and eerie howling noise out through the front door, but besides that, it seemed completely normal.

There was nothing getting in the way of Seth's exploring, of course, seeing as the front doors were wide open.

It didn't take long to reach the building, his pace slowing as he neared the entrance. Wary, Seth skimmed his surroundings and slung the gun from his back, ready to use it should the need arose.

Though it seemed a quiet, empty tower, Seth had little trust in anything or anyone. He knew all too well that things were rarely as they seemed. "Steady, Hound," he muttered to the dog. "Don't do anything stupid, yeah?"

The dog responded with a few wags of it's tail and fell into step a little closer to Seth. That said, the man approached the doorway.

The drops of rain seemed to be growing larger as they fell. In the distance, lightning lit up the sky behind Seth. The rumble of thunder was louder, and not all that long after the flash. For a storm, it was nothing out of the ordinary.

For a building, it too was nothing out of the ordinary. Walls of stone and simple, weather worn tiles on the roof made for a quaint appearance. The building was clearly old, but sturdy down to its foundation.

The same brass urn of unlit torches sat just inside the doorway, though nothing else could be seen beyond the heavy darkness.
