One of the things I was amazed at when I became vegan was the amount of bug carapaces that where used in cosmetics (used as a coloring agent). I recently found a company that is completely vegan and has amazing lip colors and make up.http://www.

I'm a New Zealand Vegan student so have a very limited budget. I haven't been vegan long so was wondering any makeup, haircare and body products that are affordable, vegan and animal testing free?
I only know of lush and the body shop.

In my vegan cosmetics journey so far, I've been doing quite fine. I enjoyed doing internet research to find the right brands with the right ingredients and animal testing policies (yes, I may be a nerd.) Anyone know a nice carmine-free red matte lipstick? I have always used MAC's Ruby Woo or Russian Red and just used up all of the tubes I still had lying around from my pregan days. I'm looking for a real fifties pin-up red :) (I only know about B Never but I am currently unable to order from them.)

Have any of you tried Eyes Lip Face cosmetics? It's relatively inexpensive and they claim that they do not test on animals and that their products do not contain animal byproducts. Today I was at the mall with family and while my cousin was buying from the MAC counter, I asked one of the women working there if the company does animal testing and uses animal ingredients. She said no to both and assured me that MAC is "very animal friendly ( Read more... )

sup, guys. I have medium-brown hair, but would like to dye it black for at least three days for an anime convention and was wondering what options I have. I assume henna is one. the other factor besides vegan is that I don't want anything that will mess up my hair or scalp. anyone tried anything or have an idea?
