One of the things I was amazed at when I became vegan was the amount of bug carapaces that where used in cosmetics (used as a coloring agent). I recently found a company that is completely vegan and has amazing lip colors and make up.http://www.

Does anyone have suggestions for companies I could buy stock in that sell vegan products or are in some other way vegan friendly? Tofutti (TOF) is one possibility, or there is the complicated Whole Foods (WFMI), but most of the other "mainstream" vegan brands (Silk, White Wave, Boca, etc) seem to be owned by very large companies doing too many ( Read more... )

I need a new pair of black flats. I'm a dancer and have really strong feet, so I kill shoes (I had this problem before I went vegan and killed leather shoes too). I've been a student for many, many years.  Though I've been entitled to concessions from the government, and managed to score myself a well paying one-day-per-week job, I've learned to live simply and not spend my money on crap.  Early on I had a lot of trouble not going over budget on food even though I was buying the cheapest vegan food available ( Read more... )
