On a sort of similar note, does anyone have some very simple adaptions/variations on 'traditional' thanksgiving/xmas food? I'm going to be the only vegan at mine and am hoping to be able to eat more than just the sprouts.

i have decided to skip the tofurkey this year and focus on other holiday flavors.

greenbean salad - fresh, steamed greenbeans with sauteed mushrooms, garlic and onions and a little vinegar drizzled over the top

banana pumpkin shake - frozen banana, cooked fresh sweet pumpkin in a shake. use your blender and add nutmeg, cinnamon, and a cup of soymilk

rosemary potatoes - red potatoes sliced and baked in 1/4 inch of water and fresh Rosemary

that's all i got so far! these aren't real recipes per se, but they are ideas for recipes and felt like sharing them with the community.

I am planning on making this and I'm very excited about it. I've always loved turkey on Thanksgiving, but I would rather skip the fake meat and have some festive and seasonal veggies :-)

Is the chipmunk in your icon pooping or digging a hole? For some reason I just HAVE TO KNOW!

I think it was pawing at the ground and then scurrying away from us :-)

Ha ha! Well, for the record, I think the dark spot he left behind is a little bit of chipmunk doody.

I've tried both Tofurkey and Unturkey, and I like the Tofurkey a lot better...

I'm already excited for Thanksgiving too and have decided for this year to make some sort of tofu roast with stuffing, a brown gravy, roasted root vegetables and squash with thyme/majoram/sage/rosemary, mashed sweet potatoes, a cranberry relish, and pumpkin biscuits.... and then a pumpkin pie for dessert :)

I had tofurkey for canadian Thanksgiving and I was very disappointed, however I am not a huge fan of seitan so that could be why. My brother really liked it though.
