Selphie Cuddles With The Chocobos

Basically, this post exists because Selphie has promised half of Vatheon that she'll show off the chocobos, and introduce people to the gorgeous birds that they may or may not know from their world.

The barn was not very hard to find. It was, after all, a barn in an underwater city and locals were able to direct him right to it. As he approached, he could smell the birds before even reaching the barn door. He didn't actually know if Selphie was in, but she had said to just drop by sometime, and dropping by was exactly what he was doing. Luckily, she was there and tending to the birds.

She was singing and she looked very busy and Squall thought for a moment that maybe he had come at a bad time. Still, he hung around for a few moments, listening to Selphie sing before finally coughing to catch her attention.

Selphie was cut short, just when she was about to lead into a probably very annoyingly bright chorus. She'd just finished with the bird she was with, and she stoodup from the barn floor.

"Squall!"

At the same time, a large chocobo nearby turned his head sharply at the loud shouting of the name. But Selphie was too busy tripping her way over to the human version.

"Hi Selphie." Squall didn't notice the bird that responded to his name and even if he did, he would probably assume that it was just reacting to her sudden outburst. From his quick look around, he could tell that this place had the works: everything a chocobo caretaker could ever need. "...this place has everything."

Selphie stood directly in front of Squall, but whirled around to take a good look at the place from where he was standing.

"It's awesome, huh?"

Though Vatheon somehow provided it, Selphie looks immensely proud at that fact that she's kept it all running.

[Meg slips in while Selphie's singing her more sad song and hopes up to sit on the edge of one of the pins.]

I'd hoped you'd be feeling better.

*Selphie trailed off in her singing and turned to look up at Meg*

Better?

Tieria was walking past the barn when he heard singing. Normally, he wouldn't have bothered looking, but the voice sounded somewhat familiar. He headed over to the door and looked inside to see who it was, only to stop and stare at the sight.

He did not expect to find a barn full of giant chickens. He gaped for a bit in something akin to shock.

Selphie continued to sing while she brushed the chocobos and just as she was finished with one particular bird, she looked up to see Tieria just staring.

She burst into laughter at the sight, "Never seen chocobos before, huh?"

"Ah... no. I have not." He stayed near the door. Giant chickens... it was really strange for him. "What are they?"

Selphie stood up and moved towards the door, the chocobos clucking around her and taking a look at the stranger.

"They're chocobos! They're from my world. And these ones are super friendly. Well, unless you pick a fight!"

[Are those Chocobo's?]

I didn't know there were Chocobo's in vatheon......

*Selphie looked up and smiled with a nod*

Uh huh! Do you have chocobos in your world?

[phantasmalgirl]

Yeah....There all over the place where I'm from.

I think we may be from the same world......

*Selphie titled her head and looked her over, wondering if that could be true*

[...Yukari will walk into the barn because she hears the singing. She doesn't really think anything of it at first, but she will stop and stare when she sees Selphie surrounded by the birds.

...She...doesn't wanna interrupt her, soooo she will just continue staring. At least for a while...]

*Selphie's song comes to a natural end, and the chocobo she was grooming looks up at her and nuzzles into her arm. Selphie laughs and kisses the bird on its beak, and when she looks up she sees Yukari and waves*

[Yukari waves back, approaching her. She can't help but smile, seeing the chocobo nuzzle her like that.]

Hey, Selphie. [chuckle] Friends of yours?

*Selphie smiles as the birds go about their business, and she hangs the brush on its hook before going over to Yukari*

Uh huh! They're from home!
