She would mind, only because it was colder than usual thanks to the elevator construction. He could get sick.

"Hello..." Kairi paused as she gave him a good look over. The belts. She knew those! And the necklace, hair color and scar!

"Leon!" She lit up as she closed the distance between them to take a hold of his arm. "Did you just arrive here?"

He looked down at the girl who had greeted him, but before he could react, she had latched right onto him! Squall's first instinct was to tug himself free, but he didn't want to appear hostile. Getting information was more important than his own personal comfort.

After a short pause he said, "I think you have the wrong person."

She laughed a bit as she shook her head. "Come on, Leon. I know it's you." Who else seems to need that many belts! And the necklace was there. Kairi did let him go, pausing to consider a moment. Leon didn't seem to be the joking type. Kairi let him go as she looked him over carefully.

"...you do seem younger then I last saw you."

This girl was really adamant about this "Leon" thing. It was...part...of his name, he supposed. And apparently he really looked like this Leon person.

Just a coincidence, he was sure.

"I'm not Leon," he said. "My name is Squall."

Lily had been shopping in the plaza all afternoon, and was just thinking about heading home for dinner, when a newcomer appeared just a few metres away from her. It startled her, and she jumped back.

But then she realized that it was really quite freezing out, and he'd catch his death in no time, soaked as he was. She fairly ran to him, summoning a towel from home and warming it as she moved.

"Are you all right?" she asked, holding the towel out to him.

He didn't answer at first, just kind of staring at the towel for a few seconds. Unless his eyes were playing tricks on him, that woman just pulled it out of thin air. Squall was no stranger to magic, but not this kind of magic. Finally, he took it and started drying out his hair.

"Fine," he replied, which would be his answer even if he was coughing up a storm. "Uh, thanks."

It's no problem. It's usually not so cold here, and I was disoriented enough when I arrived during pleasant weather. I don't mean to startle you, but...

[She mutters a spell that sends a jet of hot air out of the end of her wand.]

Can I help you dry your clothes? Before they completely freeze?

[He was certainly startled, but to his credit, he recovered quickly. As weird as this was getting, he didn't quite like the idea of freezing to death.]

Go right ahead.

[ He was just passing through today, heading for work but, what ho? What was this? Quickly nabbing a towel from the nearest local, enter one dude in a rush. ]

Hey Leon! Wel--

[ A stop and a pause as he offers the towel. ]

Oh. Sorry. Guess I mistook you for someone else. Uh... welcome to Vatheon anyway!

[He takes the towel, not about to let himself freeze over.]

Thanks. What is this place?

Like I said, the city's called Vatheon. As you probably figured out, it's underwater. The bubble up there's what keeps the water and the fish up and that coral over there somehow keeps our energy up. You'll see if you stick around long enough without touching it.

No one really knows why we're here or what we're supposed to do but we gotta make due.

[ But he pauses, extending a hand in greeting. ]

Uh, right. The name's Luka, by the way.

[He looks at the hand, then shakes it.]

Squall Leonhart.

[His last name has Leon in it, but it's probably just a coincidence, right?]

[He mulls over the coral for a bit. It doesn't look like anything special to him, but he's learned by now that powerful magical things don't have to be fancy looking. And of course, he's going to do the dumb thing and not touch it for a month.]

So you just live here?

[After a long day of playing doing serious manly business in the snow, Equius is headed back home. He cuts through the Plaza, and is entirely unphased when a newcomer appears just a few feet ahead of him. Barely looking at the poor sap, he pulls a towel out of his sylladex and offers it to him on his way past.]

[A towel is most welcome and Squall takes it before seeing who was offering it to him.

...what a weird looking guy.]

[Most newcomers stare the first time they see a troll. Equius should be used to it by now, but then, he's perhaps a bit more sensitive to being thought of as a freak than the average troll. He slows down, glancing over his shoulder at the human.]

What?

[Whoops, caught staring. Squall wasn't going to pretend that he wasn't. He just hadn't seen a non human like this before. If this was the kind of people that lived here, he was going to have to get used to it.]

Sorry.

So that's what it looked like. After arriving recently himself, Norway had been curious about the nature of his own arrival. What better way than to stand by and wait around until another arrived? He stood off to the side, having hidden himself behind a supporting beam of a building's entrance. He curled his hand around the surface and peered out from behind.

He didn't want to come off as creepy- after all. But it all happened so fast he didn't even...Much to his disappointment, whoever came out wasn't even from his own world. Nonetheless, he watched. Perhaps stared a bit intently, too intently, not so much as blinking. He had seen plenty of humans before but none quite like this.

No, no, sorry, but this nation will not be saying hi. Just gawking from afar, and obviously by this point, seeing as he's leaned out from behind the column to get a better look.

It didn't take long to realize he was being watched. By some weirdo. One didn't need military training to figure that out, even a young child would be able to tell with how obvious that guy was being. Squall was content to face him and stare back for a few seconds before asking, "What?"

"Nothing," he snapped, as though Squall was the one disturbing him. He withdrew from sight. But not for long, instead stepping out from the other side of the column.

He glared at Squall for a good few seconds as he walked away from the building and more into sight. "I was just looking for someone. You were not them. Nor did you even satisfy my curiosity." He explained curtly. "Where do you come from?"

Yeah, definitely a weirdo. Squall didn't really care if he was just called boring. Some random guy's opinion didn't mean anything to him. Hell, if he were more boring, maybe people would stop bothering him. But it seems he wasn't boring enough, if the guy decided to ask him a question.

"Balamb Garden," he answered, crossing his arms. "You a local here?"
