[ Alucard was up and about this time. Following Adrian's path, the No Life King decided to sneak up on his Prince. The Library of Vatheon. A child engrossed in books. How it remindeth the old vampire of when he was a boy. When he was little Prince, studying Latin, German, Old Bulgarian, geography, mathematics, science, the classical arts, and philosophy. He walked up to the studying youth, his red duster draped over his shoulders. A cold breath upon the young dhmapire's cheek as the Nosferatu bent down to whisper: ]
[ Adrian had been so engrossed with the books that he had not really sensed Alucard's presence until he was right beside him, speaking softly to his ear. He could not help but jump somewhat, startled. He knew the voice, he just hadn't been expecting to hear it here. ]
Oh!!
[ He had nearly dropped his book(!) ]
Oh goodness, Father, you startled me! Deary me, you shouldn't sneak up on me like that, I didn't even sense you, I was so wrapped up in my own thoughts.
[ Adrian calmed his quiet fluster and turned to look at Alucard with a small, sweet smile ]
[ And the fluster and self-consciousness returned when he realised what he was holding and Adrian quickly shelved the book about faeries ]
Oh, well, I was reading... I think I became a little distracted. Things are in such a muddle and the young lady that keeps this place seemed so busy so I... began to sort through a few books.
I saw some that others might like, perhaps I could borrow them and offer them to those I feel would like them at a later date? I do not know... I do not wish to impose.
[ What a comforting feeling to have Alucard comb away his wavy (and often fly-away) hair ]
Kagome was sitting in a corner, reading a children's book that she remembered from her childhood. After studying for awhile, she had decided to walk through the library when this particular book caught her interest. She was oblivious to everything around her, until she heard Alucard's voice.
Standing up, she moved around until she could find him. She heard him ask his question outloud and she was finally able to find him. "You're never too old for children's books" she said as she smiled at him.
Shocked at first by the young woman's soft voice, thinking it to be the librarian at first, Adrian turns to find the source of the sound. But his palpitating heart settled when he saw it was none other than Kagome.
"Ah, good evening young Kagome..." he smiled "Hmm, no, I suppose one can always find interest in... books for children, at heart I wonder if we ever really do grow out of them?"
"Hello Adrian, how are you? What brought you here?" She thought of the conversation she had about avoiding him and she suddenly realized that she really had no desire too. She like Alucard and she enjoyed his company. She wasn't about to avoid him because of an over-protective half-dog fr...husband.
She tilted her head slightly as she thought about it. "I don't think so. I think that they're always a good thing to go back too because they remind us of a simpler time.

"I am quite well, Kagome." Adrian replied with a gentle smile. There was something about this girl he was unable to shake now, she was his first feed in Vatheon, her blood still flowed through him. He could sense her, feel her, she could understand how she felt self conscious and unsettled around him. Yes, he could feel it well.
The doctor had avoided going out in the daytime due to the sheer amount of people after his neck and decided after hours was the best time to get around. This evening found him in the library, browsing the shelves for something interesting to pass the time. The last time he'd picked up a good book, he wasn't sure. Hardly any free time on his hands. Perusing several books in the history section, he lifts his head, hearing someone else in the premises. This caused him a measure of tension as he set the book down and slipped silently behind a nearby bookshelf. Much like a tiger stalking his prey, he moved between shelves and finally reached the source of the sound. His guard was lowered and his expression softened the moment he caught sight of Adrian muttering to himself and seemingly lost in a children's book. Interesting.
"Romanticized?" asked the doctor with a soft chuckle as he stepped out from behind his rather poor sneaking spot. "Certainly, my prince hasn't seen anything by Anne Rice, has he...?"
He was startled at the sound of another's voice and turned to meet it, only to see that it was the gentle Doctor. Adrian smiled (whilst quietly shelving the children's book her had been browsing).
"Muraki, what a pleasant surprise! Good evening." A moment's pause as he considered the name "Hm... Anne Rice? No, I... do not recognise the name I'm afraid."
"And a pleasant evening to yourself, my prince." There is a small smirk doctor's lips as he pushes his glasses up. His manner is observant, half curious and half amused. He wasn't expecting Adrian in this particular area of the library, certainly but he was grateful for the dhampire's company. Better him than someone he'd recently made enemies with.
"A good read every now and then but yes, rather romanticized." he replies with a small smirk. "And what is keeping the young master preoccupied tonight?"
"Well, I fancied a little walk myself and ended up here, I do not know how, but I did." Strange, Adrian felt quite comfortable talking to Muraki, he sensed something oddly gentle about the man. He couldn't place what or why that was though. "And now here, I wonder how I could have overlooked this place. Libraries are really quite magical places, don't you think?"
