[ Alucard was up and about this time. Following Adrian's path, the No Life King decided to sneak up on his Prince. The Library of Vatheon. A child engrossed in books. How it remindeth the old vampire of when he was a boy. When he was little Prince, studying Latin, German, Old Bulgarian, geography, mathematics, science, the classical arts, and philosophy. He walked up to the studying youth, his red duster draped over his shoulders. A cold breath upon the young dhmapire's cheek as the Nosferatu bent down to whisper: ]
[ Adrian had been so engrossed with the books that he had not really sensed Alucard's presence until he was right beside him, speaking softly to his ear. He could not help but jump somewhat, startled. He knew the voice, he just hadn't been expecting to hear it here. ]
Oh!!
[ He had nearly dropped his book(!) ]
Oh goodness, Father, you startled me! Deary me, you shouldn't sneak up on me like that, I didn't even sense you, I was so wrapped up in my own thoughts.
[ Adrian calmed his quiet fluster and turned to look at Alucard with a small, sweet smile ]
[ And the fluster and self-consciousness returned when he realised what he was holding and Adrian quickly shelved the book about faeries ]
Oh, well, I was reading... I think I became a little distracted. Things are in such a muddle and the young lady that keeps this place seemed so busy so I... began to sort through a few books.
I saw some that others might like, perhaps I could borrow them and offer them to those I feel would like them at a later date? I do not know... I do not wish to impose.
[ What a comforting feeling to have Alucard comb away his wavy (and often fly-away) hair ]
[ Why was he being embarrassed, he asked himself, this was Alucard. He would understand, Adrian knew he wouldn't judge ]
I thought it may be something the young Namine might enjoy and... Well, the books are pop-up and I thought it was quite... fun really.
A-ha, oh dear, now I must be sounding quite childish! But I really have not seen craftsmanship like this before.
Oh! And goodness me, I plain forgot! I meant to tell you that I finished reading Romeo and Juliet... What a terribly sad story, though one of true love I suppose.
[ Adrian's brow furrowed gently as he recalled the book, how it had moved him ]
To be so close to your loved one, knowing you will die moments later. And... knowing it is a real death, without any resurrection or hope of meeting again. What a terrible moment it must have been for the pair... Knowing that that embrace would be the last, that their love was to die still so young...
Mmmn. Yes, the child does enjoy such books. She enjoys the vibrant colors and the fantastical illustrations many contain.
I remember reading and entertaining Integra with such pop-up books when she was a little girl. Mmmn. My, my.
As for Romeo and Juliet, a brilliant tragedy, enjoyed by young an old. A classic tale of young love. Do not cry, child of mine. For in Heaven, do Romeo and Juliet love in each others embrace forevermore.
More books, Prinţul meu?

[ Alucard's red eyes looked over the titles of the books Adrian had in his arms. My my. Such interest in mythological creatures. ]

What do you think happens to Lovers who do not both go to Heaven?
[ He doesn't say it, but he's thinking of his mother and Dracula... Who are both now dead. ]

I don't know, my son.
I wish I could tell you the answer.

No, I... suppose one cannot know those sort of things now, when alive.
[ But convinced he was born from evil, only to return from it, Adrian supposed his Father wouldn't be lonely in Hell when Adrian himself died. ]

I... I would be frightened to die though, even after such a long life.
Perhaps that makes me a coward?
