--Work today wound up being only five hours, and I'd be surprised if tomorrow is longer than that, so we're being eased in gently, at least. And that should give me a reasonable amount of rewriting time tomorrow as well as on the weekend. (Unless I just jinxed myself.)

There are many, many things in life that are as lovely as having a purring kitten on your lap, and then having them slowly drift off...and their purring slowing down and stopping...and then that one deep, deep inhale as they fall asleep properly. Over the last several years, I've wound up with quite a bit of BPAL perfume, especially since I don't actually wear perfume much. (Largely due to one of my best friends being massively allergic to scented anything; we don't even live in the same city anymore, but I still think in terms of "would this make K sick?" a fair bit. We don't appear to be directly in the hurricane's path, and by the time it gets this far north it's apparently going to be down to a tropical storm (which is the usual way of things).
