And also, I am curious, since youre a clever and seem knowledgeable in many things, do you happen to know if there are any agencies that could help people find jobs in cleaning? (I have plenty experience and find it a good/easy job to do and actually kind of like it) :P
Call JB Staff Employment Agency [01314479530], or drop by in person on 115 Comiston Road. They do mainly nursing home cleaning at decent rates, and will probably hire you pretty damned quick with a couple of good references.
I'll have to look into finding where the advice bureau is. I'd totally be up to making silly-small payments.
I've been trying to look into finding cleaning jobs for the most part as I good experience in it, find it reasy and actually kind of enjoy doing it (plus its not so taxing that would kill any artistic/creative enthusiasm) If you know of any online agencies that could help with that, that would be amazing! :D I seem to not be any good at finding agencies at all :P
Kurt's got the right idea. But you also have to be more aggressive in calling potential employers back. Usually, I would wait a day or two, then call them back to see how things are going. Showing that sort of initiative might be the difference between getting hired and not getting hired.
Does Bulldog have a local office, or one nearby? Maybe a visit in person might net you results, if you're having a hard time over the phone or online...?
Yeah , I think one of my drawbacks as far as persueing a job, is that I am very shy and pretty passive, so i find it hard (no matter how enthusiastic i am) to chase the job up and really persue it like that.
as far as bulldog goes.. i think the may only have offices in england... possibly wales. They dont really seem to give any of their locations out :/
Do you have a friend who could maybe do the callbacks for you? Sorta say, "I'm calling for , in regards to a recent position available at your place of business."
As for Bulldog, try this: Write out a physical letter (not email), and send it to their snail mail address. Explain the situation, and how you feel you're not getting headway with the phones. Tell them you think you've been overbilled, and you wish something to be done about it. Leave them your phone number so they can have someone knowledgable call you back. It may be a bit slower to get to them, but if you're being stymied by phone...
Hmm. If you have a paypal acct. or something else I can send money to, I can donate a bit when my paycheck arrives, which is in 6 days. So please do tell me how or where to send the moneys, and I'll do my best to help ya.
oh? *blush* I've always used paypal for my auctions and commissions and stuff.. seem people gripe about it.. but its usefil for me since i live in the uk and and so many people ive worked with have been outside the uk!
Anyways thank you so SO much :) And youre in europe? *just curious because of the currency being in euros*
I slammed a load of CVs stright on companies' front desks, just asked them if they had anything rollin'. And it's who ya know, maybe someone in town can put in an insider word for ya.
Failing that, nibble someone's arm and create a Sushi world domination chain? :P
It's funny, I would have done anything to be out of the office early afternoon, beaut of a day. Yous will be fine, something always comes round the corner
