It was the first time in ages that the temperature had snuck above 10 degrees C and there was all this sunlight leaking out of the sky when suddenly a bright yellow butterfly flew across the garden. In its endless, largely pointless and mostly destructive tinkering, LiveJournal has successfully broken its website for some users once again (at some point overnight). EDF Energy just created a bill for me going back a whole year, including 3 quarters I'd already paid. They do subtract some amount (which may or may not be random) from the colossal total. However, they have plenty of valid readings in between to work from. They're just stepping up their incompetence to a new level of idiocy which even they hadn't ( Read more... )

I thought that perhaps I had another week before the newt migration began. But I came across an early newt on the path last night. It wasn't at all active until it had spent some time sitting on my hand, warming up a bit. I'm fairly certain that wasn't the council's(?) intent. But while many areas remain dark or have put up the same old festive lights they've had for decades, someone in the town/city centre was trying something new. Allegedly "City Landscapes/Landscaping" (but no livery on van or person). Just keeping a note in case the rather aggressive driver with an over-developed sense of entitlement does come back and burn my house down or something.

One of the dancers who turned up almost on time to the free social event (as opposed to the majority who are generally late!) complained that the water out of the water machine wasn't cold.
