Giles felt weightless... brainless... and less a few other things as he drifted in and out of consciousness. His left side throbbed in pain, not to mention it felt slightly sticky, which could only mean one thing -- whatever had happened to him had caused him to bleed.

"Right there," he heard Jenny from somewhere beside him, and his head lolled in the direction of her voice.

"Darling...?"

"I've got you, England. You're okay. You're gonna be okay." Though he wished her tone were as confident as her words.

"A gas station?" He heard Anya saying, a bit uncertainly. "It hardly looks like it's in working order."

"That's the idea," Jenny told her.

"Jenny, what happened to me?" he slurred, resting his head against hers as they walked.

"You were hit by a spear," she murmured, her hand sliding up and down his back.

"Must be why I'm so tired," he quipped, and managed a smile when she chuckled.

"Rest your eyes, Rupert," she told him, and within an instant, he obeyed.
