Jenny screamed as Rupert slumped forward on the steering wheel, a spear sticking in his left side. Without thinking, she recited an incantation to extract it, and then settled her gaze on the knight out the window, galloping alongside the careening RV.
She grabbed the wheel with one hand, faintly hearing the shocked cries of the kids in the back, and dimly hearing Willow ask her what had happened, but for the moment, she was somewhat blinded by fury. So as the spear levitated in air, covered in her husband's blood, Jenny felt her eyes go dark as she softly uttered, "Impale," in Latin, and the spear went flying out the window, straight through the knight's throat with enough momentum to knock him backward off his horse, dead instantly.
Then with a brief shake of the head, Jenny was back to normal, steering the RV over to the side of the road and pulling on the emergency brake. There was a clamor of footsteps on the roof and then Buffy's yell before something hit the dirt off to the side of the vehicle.
"Rupert?" Jenny leaned down, feeling for his pulse as Xander threw open the door, running out to check on Buffy after her fall off the roof. She breathed a sigh of relief to note that he still had a pulse, though thready, and was still breathing, though it was weak.
"What happened?" Buffy called, running back into the trailer. Then, she gasped. "Oh my God, Giles!"
"Buffy, help me!" Jenny grunted, lifting him from the driver's seat. Buffy ran over to help, propping Rupert up on his right side while Jenny tentatively held him up on the left. She looked to the kids. "We gotta find shelter," she told them, "so we can tend to Giles."
"Out in the open?" Anya asked. "Where we could be easily spotted and captured?"
"Wouldn't argue with her if I were you," Spike told her lowly.
Willow furrowed her brows at him. "Why?"
Jenny met Spike's eyes, and he grinned at her. "You didn't see what she did to that knight."
Willow turned to her, then. "What did you do?"
"Nothing," she snipped, shooting Spike a look. "Just... knocked into him with the trailer, that's all."
Spike nodded slowly, smirking at her with narrowed eyes though he didn't say another word about it.
"Come on," she told them, feeling Rupert's blood seeping into her shirt as he rested between her and Buffy. "We need to help Giles."
