They were somewhere in the desert when all the trouble began. Arrows began piercing the walls of the RV. He threw a glance in the rearview mirror as the trailer pitched and rocked. "Jenny!"
Jenny stumbled, grabbing the small sink for support, as she called up to him, "Rupert, what's going on?"
"I'm... I'm not certain." He glanced in one of the side mirrors and, to his surprise, a band of knights were closing in on them.
Then the door to the back bedroom banged open and Buffy leaned out, yelling to him. "Giles!"
"I see them," he told her.
Buffy and Dawn stumbled out of the back together, all of them clutching the walls. "See who?" Spike asked.
An arrow must have landed near him, for he and Xander were soon on their feet as well. "Arrows!"
"Bloody hell!"
"They're throwing arrows!"
He heard Jenny telling Dawn sternly, "Dawn, get under the table. Now."
"Horsies!" Tara exclaimed, happily oblivious to the turmoil they were in.
"Weapons?" he asked his Slayer, and glanced in the rearview mirror to spot Buffy tossing a bag at Spike.
Spike, meanwhile, turned to him with a look. "Hello?! You're driving one!"
"Don't hit the horsies!" Willow pleaded, as Buffy made her way up to stand beside him at the wheel.
"Oh, we won't!" she called back to her friend reassuringly. Turning to him then, Buffy dropped her voice and instructed him, "Aim for the horsies."
Giles spun the wheel, jerking the trailer toward the knights on their steeds, but the horses moved out of the way before he could do any damage. Spinning the wheel to get back on the road, he threw a glance into the back, checking on his wife and the others. "Jenny!"
