Ivy is starting to play more imaginatively. For a while she has played with the Little People and with baby dolls imitating activities like putting the people in cars to go to the market or feeding and rocking the baby dolls. My back and neck are a little sunburned and peeling from our trip to the beach last weekend. Ivy keeps coming up to me, touching the back of my neck and saying, very tenderly, "Mama, what happened to you?"

Ivy and I were hugging just now, and she said, "You're the best mama ever!"

Yesterday my folks were watching the girls while I had a VBS planning meeting at church. Maw-Maw told me they played down by the creek... Ivy was tossing sticks and rocks into the creek and Sadie was playing imaginative games. Sadie cleared out a path to make a road. Last week, the girls and I went to have a picnic at the park, but when we tried to set up, the wind was so bad, it would have been impossible. So Sadie suggested we eat in the car. That was fun! I love watching Sadie play with Little People or paper dolls. She not only creates whole stories with them... she narrates the stories, too. Tonight she was playing with paper dolls with a book that folds out to a dollhouse that I got at an antique/junk shop a couple of weeks ago.
