Mine
So, I kept a list of all the words Sadie said until she was 21 months old. Ivy is now 19 months old, and I have no such list. Poor neglected second child. :-(
However, there is one word that was still not in Sadie's vocabulary by 21 months that Ivy uses about 100 times every day... MINE! Clearly I didn't take Sadie's toys and food away from her enough for her to learn this important word. I think Ivy's favorite expression is, "No, no! Mine!" No one even has to be trying to take something away... she just likes to hold her stuff and declare that it is, in fact, HERS!
But the possessive thing is sweet sometimes... Pat has been in China for the last two weeks, but he returns tonight. Since the girls would be asleep before he gets home, we talked about how he'd be there when they woke up. So earlier, I asked Ivy, "When you wake up in the night, who will be right next to you?" And with such a sweet smile and voice, she said, "My Dada."
