A Day in the Life
Thought I'd do a typical mostly at home and accomplishing stuff day with Sadie 4 1/2 and Ivy almost 15 months. :-) Ivy watched a bit more TV than usual today, because she has a bit of a cold, so I just let her veg rather than try to entertain herself while I was doing stuff. Although both girls entertained themselves unusually well today!

Some days, I am so introverted that even interacting on the internet seems like too much effort.

Creative Thinking vs Following Directions
I'm a little worried about Sadie going to school in a year. She has a big imagination and is very creative, and both these things have caused problems in her swimming lessons at the Y this week. More nursing, Mama!
For the last several months, Ivy and I have a system for getting her to sleep. We lie down on her mat and nurse. As we nurse, she does yoga. All kinds of strange positions, including one where she's pretty much standing on her head with her feet in the air. Through all this, she's still latched on and sucking away. I haven't posted in forever... I can only hop online for a couple of minutes at a time a few times a day. Only enough to check e-mail and skim Facebook and LJ, but not enough time to compose a post of my own. The last few days were very stressful... focusing a lot on Ivy... taking her to the doctor, gathering her sample, looking for the specific probiotic the doc recommended to help with her diarrhea, nursing a lot to prevent dehydration and fussiness. One day, instead of some sappy message about birds singing or the sunrise, I'd like my daughter to give me a Mother's Day card that says, "Mother, thank you for lining my diaper with saran wrap and then, with a plastic spoon, scraping my smelly, liquidy poop from that saran wrap and putting it in a little cup over and over again until you collected ( Read more... )
