A bit of light- DNS issues may be the problem with LJ and my laptop. It crashed shortly after the big storm. Not a nasty windows type crash. Just a polite dark grey rectangle on the screen advising me that I must restart the computer. I'm afraid that there might have been a surge. When it restarted, the year was very wrong, so i have concerns. Back

We had lightning strike our apartment a few years back and we replaced our surge protector.

Of course, it was a bit charred--so we knew it had done its job and died an honorable death.

I would recommend replacing it just to be on the safe side.

I think I'd look at replacing it.

I'm having trouble with my wireless connection so I'm using my little netbook with my air card until I can get it sorted. It's slower than my desktop, and I have to watch the data useage, but it's better than nothing.
