We did try that for several days and then Hekka got sick and wanted chicken noodle soup and that kind of thing, and I asked her afterward if she wanted to continue the no gluten, and she said she didn't.  But we may look at it again down the road.  I have this big bag of corn flour now.  I should make some more tamale pie.

All the other computers/screens are taken up.  But II'm pleased to see this should work.  The LJ site is a bit jazzy for the ink display, but the posting screen is OK.  Using the iPad has made me a lot more tolerant on on screen keyboards ( Read more... )

I generally use recipes from the Better Homes and Gardens (red checkered) cookbook (1987, I believe).  So our first attempts involved replacing white flour with rice and oat flour.  I have a small Vittorio grain mill that has never been used for wheat.  The kids enjoyed helping grind the grains.  I need to get some oat groats for future attempts ( Read more... )
