My kindergarten teacher died
She was funny and warm and smart and patient and tall!
When I was in my twenties, she moved down the street from my parents. It's a testimony to that woman's impact on me as a child that every time I saw her as an adult I actually felt happier, and better about myself!

My homemade applesauce: 32 calories, 7 carbs per serving. Nothing artificial added.
Bonus: mine actually tastes better!

Carrie says I'm going to win the cool neighbor of the year award...
But really, what's not to love about walking up to your 7-year old neighbors and saying,

It was October and I was buying Christmas presents ahead and I had plenty of time and now it is December 13th. What the heck happened???
This weekend I will clearly be swapping out the giant pile of pumpkins that decorates our yard for twinkly lights and my front door Santa.

Movie!
Saw a movie called "Silver Linings Playbook" this weekend. Odd name, excellent movie!! If you have any chance of seeing it in the theater, I highly recommend it.

I love leftovers. I love them. I love them. Love. Them.
I haven't even made gravy yet from the scrumptious containers of drippings I brought home (long story short: my in-laws don't make gravy). The drippings themselves are so fantastically tasty, I have just been using them as-is on turkey, drizzled on stuffing, or as an alternate spread on the amazing onion bread my husband made ( Read more... )
