Wasted thoughts! If they don't want your pie, they should make their own! Plus, a pie is PIE and who doesn't like that (except me, but that's not personal. I'm an equal opportunity pie disliker!)?
Do you have a reason to suspect that people don't care for them? And if they don't, and you do, than it is a win b/c you will have pie to take home!!! Mmmmm. Pie. I had pie for breakfast.
You know, that's the thing... That's why I was noting it under "personal awareness"... it was more about my own anxieties, and the general category of "Boy, I sure worry a lot about what other people think."
As it turned out, I didn't have much pie to take home (and I was kind of grumpy about it) but I did get two pieces. It was a beautiful pie!
I made three desserts this year...
1) an apple pie with a cinnamon-ginger crust that I wasn't sure about. The crust seemed a bit dry, but it was holding together. I froze it, unbaked, and sent it home with my Dad, who came pre-Thanksgiving, so he could bake it for Thanksgiving at his house;
2) a peach crisp, which I did bake, but then also froze, also for my Dad to take home and bake-and-serve on Thanksgiving. (although now that I think about it, I asked my brother how the apple pie was and he did not mention the peach crisp at all so maybe my Dad and his wife saved it?); and
3) a triumphantly lovely apple pie with adorable leaves on the crust, which I made while watching Planes,
( ... )
I would love to share with you the tasty Chess pie recipe, but then I think to myself "Are you trying to kill the poor girl w/ all the beautiful sugar in that pie???"
