Coupland and I love to go walkies of a Sunday! He IS part dachsie. Smooth coated, of course.
Ha! Tommy-Toe! That would be hilarious! That skit is probably the funniest thing ever.
Yes, I want to keep her. She's precious. So, I guess I need to get her taken care of. Bob Barker also suggests I spay and neuter my pets. Expensive pastime, pets are. But, glad to hear cats take care of themselves. Perfect!
Are you sure she's five weeks? Does she have all her teeth? Are her eyes still blue? Are her ears closed up at all? Kittens need to be at least 9-10 weeks old to be away from their mothers, so you might need to do a little surrogate lovin'. Give her plenty of warm places to sleep. Blankies and such
( ... )
I'm not sure about her age. I'm guessing without any real good understanding of cats. I've only ever had fully grown cats. Never kittens.
Her eyes are green/hazel. It looks like she has most of her teeth. She/It won't open her mouth. But I saw front teeth anyway. She's alert and spry. I can hold her, but she moves quick if she doesn't want to be held. I haven't got her to purr yet, but she has meowed a few times. Her ears are clean and her eyes are bright. My sister gave her some of her cats' kitty treats and she ate those. I left some milk out yesterday along with treats and she helped herself to what she wanted. My neighbor had been leaving out food too. Hopefully, this is just a very small 10 week old cat.
I'll keep an eye out for worms and eye discharge. At this point I think she's healthy, but I really don't know. I know I need to go to the vet soon. The last kitty I had looked healthy, but she had feline leukemia. That's pretty much why I haven't had a cat in a really long time. Nikita broke my heart.
Okay. Ummm, depending on age and her health, you might need to stick to whole milk for a week or two. If the mom isn't with it it's probably not in tip-top shape, so I second the vet comment.
It was purring like a power drill and curling up in my arms when I picked it up this morning. So, that's good. Today, I'm going to get a cat house so she and Coupland can get acquainted and something to clean her up. (Baby wipes out to do it. She's dusty more than anything I think.) And, probably that soy milk that I drink isn't the best food for her. Then, I'll try to figure out the vet thing.
Baby wipes are a bad idea and waste of money. The chemicals will strip the oil from her hair and could irritate the skin. Shampoo her in the sink, that'll be better.
Jackie was suggested and considered. My family and friends thought I was naming my cat after Johnny Depp, though. I love Johnny Depp, but I wasn't. And now I'm thinking puttems is a boy (based on extensive interweb type research including pictures of kitty private areas-fun viewing, I'll tell you what). But this cat is about as much a Captain Jack as I'm Rose Tyler. Personality wise, he, she, it, needs an appropriate name. I'm working on it. It's a process. Coupland was called "Dog" for 2 weeks.

OMG MUST GO WATCH SOME BOFFLE NOW
Kitties pretty much take care of themselves! If you are going to keep her, a trip to the vet's in order for shots and worming.
