Are you sure she's five weeks? Does she have all her teeth? Are her eyes still blue? Are her ears closed up at all? Kittens need to be at least 9-10 weeks old to be away from their mothers, so you might need to do a little surrogate lovin'. Give her plenty of warm places to sleep. Blankies and such.

She should be fine, as long as she looks alert and you can get her purring. Five week olds aren't quite weaned, so you might want to soften her food with some water or a teeny bit of milk at first. Don't give her solid kitten food.

And don't give her clumping litter. That's dangerous for youngsters. Just regular litter for now. If you put her in the litter pan, she should figure out what it's for right away.

And give her toys!

If she's a stray, she might be sick. If she doesn't eat or has eye or ear discharge or wheezes when she breathes, she needs to go to a vet immediately. Keep an eye on the litter for any blood or worms (okay gross, but really serious).

Actually, you should take her to the vet as soon as you can. She'll need a shot or two.

Good luck, dear! You're so kindhearted. Kittens are adorable. :)

I'm not sure about her age. I'm guessing without any real good understanding of cats. I've only ever had fully grown cats. Never kittens.

Her eyes are green/hazel. It looks like she has most of her teeth. She/It won't open her mouth. But I saw front teeth anyway.
She's alert and spry. I can hold her, but she moves quick if she doesn't want to be held. I haven't got her to purr yet, but she has meowed a few times. Her ears are clean and her eyes are bright. My sister gave her some of her cats' kitty treats and she ate those. I left some milk out yesterday along with treats and she helped herself to what she wanted. My neighbor had been leaving out food too. Hopefully, this is just a very small 10 week old cat.

I'll keep an eye out for worms and eye discharge. At this point I think she's healthy, but I really don't know. I know I need to go to the vet soon. The last kitty I had looked healthy, but she had feline leukemia. That's pretty much why I haven't had a cat in a really long time. Nikita broke my heart.

Good luck, dear! You're so kindhearted.
Shhh....don't spread it around. It'll ruin my rep. I like people to think I have a heart like the Grinch.
I am a sucker for strays, can't help it. I love the unloved. Thanks for your help.(And have I told you that I love that icon? I do. Michael Palin is awesome.)
