My husband reuses disposable floss picks. You know the ones, a toothpick with a strand of dental floss across the other side ( Read more... )

I lick too! But I don't re-use them. One go around my teeth and then they get tossed.

I don't lick them but I reuse them but it's rare that I floss, flossing always makes my teeth feel weird and as if they moved D:

I am a dental hygienist...

That weird feeling in your teeth is probably because you are not cleaning in-between the teeth enough. The bacteria that build up between the gum in the tooth cause microscopic canker sores in that space--the floss is basically scraping those sores open which will produce that weird feeling. I experience the same thing if I fall off the wagon for a few days.

If you start flossing regularly, scraping the bacteria away daily will allow your tissue to heal. After a few days to a week you will no longer have pain or bleeding associated with using floss.

microscopic canker sores D:

And I always just thought it was because I have a few teeth that overlap each other and flossing irritates their gums D:

THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME! SERIOUSLY!

I think I might start flossing regularly!

This! I have a Sonic Care toothbrush, but I never floss because I hate it. But I sure as hell will do it now...

I've reused them, but I rinse them after, AND, I brush after. I don't floss after I brush, I floss before I brush.

Why would it be gross to reuse floss but not a toothbrush (which some people use for like months and months and months and months)?

Truuueeeee. Floss and the things that end up on it gross me out far more than what happens in toothbrush bristles, which makes 0 sense.

Dang.

Hey! You talk about this as if it were a problem.
I do the same thing and there are used flosspicks laying in various places, mostly around my desk area. I just use them a few times until the floss breaks - it's not like I'm gross or anything...
At least the guy is taking active care of his teeth; imagine the alternative.
