That weird feeling in your teeth is probably because you are not cleaning in-between the teeth enough. The bacteria that build up between the gum in the tooth cause microscopic canker sores in that space--the floss is basically scraping those sores open which will produce that weird feeling. I experience the same thing if I fall off the wagon for a few days.
If you start flossing regularly, scraping the bacteria away daily will allow your tissue to heal. After a few days to a week you will no longer have pain or bleeding associated with using floss.

Sonicare brushes are great... they make the gum tissue very healthy on the outside. If you are not using something like floss to clean underneath that pink triangle of gum tissue that comes up between teeth, though, you will still have gingivitis. Definitely use the white stringy stuff! ;)

And I always just thought it was because I have a few teeth that overlap each other and flossing irritates their gums D:
