Fifth porcupine spotted today. Well, I think that I've actually spotted three, since two have been in very similar neighborhoods as previous sightings. I'm quite smitten with them. Went out for a drive to find a cell phone hotspot. I managed to take a wrong turn and had to go all the way around the loop on the Schoodic Peninsula. It was a very happy mistake. Left last night, arrived in Philadelphia this morning, took another flight to Bangor, Maine, drove to Acadia National Park and arrived about 3 pm this afternoon for an NPS archives training.. The OASM is working on the mostly senior volunteer model, though they have some lively relationships with the schools in this area. We're at a cute little inn in Victoria, BC. The trouble that it's taken to get up here (expensive ferry, going through customs) has been worth it. The British Columbia Aviation Museum has been the research subject this trip. It's run entirely by volunteers, and is as much of a community center as it is a museum.
