The experiment with Zoloft failed. I was exhausted ALL the time. Naps had been an optional thing in my life. Not while I was on Zoloft. Not only were naps mandatory but they were 3-4 hours long. That's not napping, that's sleeping and it was unacceptable IMHO. Wasting my days sleeping wasn't making anything better. Then I started grinding my ( Read more... ) -
Neurologist appointment
Today was my annual appointment with neurology to review my seizure situation and medication for same. All of my doctors are excellent. I have been seeing most of them for 10+ years. 2020 has been rotten
So, it's been a very, very long time since I've written anything here. And this is why:
July 3rd 2019 Christopher had a focal seizure while I was out running errands. When I got home he told me what had happened and due to our experience with focal seizures we were both confident that it wasn't a stroke. Remember we are not medical professionals ( Read more... ) -

not much news, mostly rumination and catch up
It's been three years since my crainiotomy as of 6/25. I feel mostly good. Still have issues that I deal with - they are all manageable but irritating. I notice them. No one else really does because they aren't necessarily obvious, they are annoying to me. Since I have the memory of how things used to be so they are most apparent to only me. ( Read more... ) -
I am still here
It's been a heck-uv-a month. Starting with having an unexpected gallbladder attack that landed me in the hospital and having surgery to my dad taking his nearly 72 year old self up a ladder and promptly falling off and knocking himself out cold which landed him in the hospital overnight with a concussion. Top 100
A friend was recently reading a music mag. He keeps much more current on the music scene than I do. This mag had an article on the Top 100 artists of all time. He was not impressed. He asked DH and I to write our own lists and give them to him and his wife. From there he will compile the lists and see how we overlap. Once he's done he will ( Read more... ) -
update
Had my most recent MRI a week or so ago. Still stable and going on two years since my surgery. My next MRI is scheduled for sometime in August. Woo Hoo. The transition to Lamictal is going well. I still have a couple more weeks before the change-over is complete. Even tho I am on both anti-seizure meds I am still having focal seizures every ( Read more... ) -
medication change
I have a new neurologist. She is so much better than the last one. The impression I got from the last one was that I should just be satisfied with how things were - my seizures are focal so he didn't seem to care if I was having them nearly every day. The other things that were going on just didn't seem to him to be a 'big deal'. He didn't come ( Read more... )
