Here are some photos from 16 May, a day when it should still be late spring, but it felt like early summer (after most of the earlier spring felt like late winter). We had two sunny days in a row, then we got another rainstorm today, but it was sunny again after it.

I can go out in a sleeveless top and sandals now. But i must have been quite a sight today with my waterproof jacket and my sun hat in the same hand (at least the umbrella was in my handbag). :)

Most of the trees are still completely green, except for those that start turning yellow early anyway. I can still hear the crickets at night.

The swallows are still here, and not showing any signs of preparing to migrate. But I hear that the last big flocks of storks are already on their way (you can see photos of some of the earlier flocks here). ( Read more... )

It started to rain a little bit yesterday in the late afternoon, when I was outside and waiting for my friend Galya (I was a little early that time, for a change, because I had a little bit of shopping to do). These are photos of this same artificial lake in my home town... only it wasn't frozen this time because it was summer. :)

The building that is reflected in a water is a hotel, and there are also a restaurant and a cafe on the ground floor.

Now that the Heat From Hell is finally gone (it still gets hot in the afternoons, but the heat is copletely bearable), I'm slowly getting back to feeling fully human.
