Abe had taken his time in the engine room to help sort the things in there into something that resembled something organized. It was already noon when he was finally able to make his way back to the hangar, with a small headache and his patience bristling. To see a foreign woman messing around with what he was starting to recognized as his hangar was far from the pleasant silence he wanted.

"Hey, what's going on?" he asked warily.

Mihashi scurried past several people as he made his way to the hangars. He had already tuned up the planes yesterday and they hadn't been flown since, but he still felt the need to check on them daily and give the engines any tune up they needed. Perhaps it was force of habit from being on aerobatics teams. Or maybe it was just his love of planes. Whatever it was, it kept bringing him there. Infact he probably knew his way to the hangar better than the way to the engine.

He pushed the big doors open with a bit of difficulty as he had his toolbox in hand, but he eventually squeezed through. But when he saw someone looking at their plane's engine he blinked and tilted his head. "Hello?" he called over to her. "Did you see something wrong?" He willed himself not to stutter. When he heard Abe, however, he jumped and nearly dropped his tools. When had he gotten there?

"What does it look like, genius?"

Kara turned about, pinning the speaker with a look.

"If you've got time to ask, then help me out here. The sooner we get this place running, the sooner us pilots will be up in the air."

Abe brushed past Mihashi to get a closer look on what she was doing. Thrace, he assumed. "The runway's clear. We can fly anytime," he pointed out. How else could he and Quatre have landed the plane after the invasion? "I can't do anything about the dents around here, though, unless you're suggesting ripping the plates out and fixing them up. Looks like they turned the hangar as a parts storage without capable pilots around for a while."

He pointed at a decently clean and organized corner of the wall. "All our tools are there. Feel free to dig through the rest of this crap to find stuff you want to use, but those are good for me." He would suggest throwing the rest of the junk overboard, but he didn't know who owned them and if they were going to be missed. Abe half-hoped that she'd suggest it.

While the ship was in port, there wasn't much for a helmsman to do, to be honest. So instead of laying around, or working on his various handiworks, he decided to do a walk around of the ship and see if there was anything he could do to help with the various repairs.

And so he was down in the hanger, looking at the planes. He always wanted to fly one. He knew the basics, but he had always flown with his father, never alone, and an airship was a lot different then a fighter plane...

Now that the junk had been shifted around, Kara had decided to take a break by fussing over her good old bird again--

Only she wasn't exactly doing it in the most conventional of fashions. The blond pilot, having worked up quite a sweat, had actually stripped down to her waist, and was cranking away at the wheel on the side of her plane, checking to see how much she could adjust the wing for maximum speed.

Her shirt lay discarded on the floor at her feet, forgotten. She was apparently oblivious to the fact that a good number of people were either staring at her or dutifully avoiding looking at her completely, with averted gazes and hot cheeks.

Souji on the other hand, once he noticed she was there, did neither. He considered himself rather relaxed about the human body. Not that he didn't appreciate the female form (or male, or very friendly hermaphaditic demihuman), and Kara had a very nice form.

"I wold be worried about those getting caught in something." He finally said, not sounding taunting or perverted. Just curious.

"Huh?"

Kara turned her head, raising an eyebrow at the speaker. She blinked, processing what he had said, then looked down, then laughed and turned back to what she was doing.

"I don't. I'm too good for that."

Sneaking off from the kitchen yet again, Etna wandered into the hangar with a few treats she stolen from the cupboards. She ordered the prinnies to get started on today's dinner, leaving Silver in charge for now since he was the smartest out of the bunch. The demon girl normally wandered into the hangar deck whenever she wanted to get away from other members of the crew. Most of the time it’s quiet down here, nice and quiet for her to take a nap.

Unfortunately, she wasn't going to be napping here today since there was some big-breasted chick grumbling angrily about something.

"Oh, you look scary~" Etna giggled.

"Babe, I could be your worst nightmare if I really wanted to be."

Kara raised an eyebrow at the girl... thing in front of her, taking in the wings and the strange features. Not quite human, was it? That didn't really bother her too much.

Strange types on the Fiertia. Oddly, Kara was starting to feel right at home.

"For some reason, I doubt that since I'm already living a nightmare." She laughed a little bitterly since she would give her left kidney to get back to the Netherworld right now.

Studying the woman for a moment, Etna figured that this chick must be one of the newcomers who joined the crew recently. The Fiertia has been rather lucky rounding up new recruits for the ship. Hopefully, this doesn't mean less pay for everyone now that they have more mouths to feed but rather less work for Etna to do.

"I'm Etna!" She said with a friendly wave. "I am guessing you’re new here but in case I guessed wrong, don't blame me! Blame the slave drivers I call the boatswains, okay?"

"Kara Thrace. Calling me Kara's just fine."

The blond turned away just long enough to bark an order at one of the people she had drafted into working for her at the moment.

"Yep, I'm new. How long have you been around?"

Osaka hadn't actually been that many places on the Fiertia yet, but since Miss Uni had looked her head over and thought she was safe to go around the ship today, she thought she'd go help the rest of the crew out on the hangar.

God was going to be there, too, probably, since She was a pilot. She'd met an admiral or two in the navy, and the prime minister at academy graduation, and she didn't know what to think of Chiyo's father as, but she couldn't say she knew God. It'd be a good idea to help Her out on earth. Being a pirate and all, you never knew when you were gonna die, and even cleaning up the hangar for Her might get her somewhere nice in Heaven ( ... )

And God herself popped her head out from under her plane at that moment, wiping her face free of the oil as she raised an eyebrow at the newcomer.

"Er?"

'Your Almightiness'...? That DID have a nice ring to it, didn't it?

Oh. No wonder she couldn't tell who God was. She looked just like the rough lady pilots she'd gotten used to before, grease and all. Osaka dug into one of her smock pockets and offered God a rag. "Here, I think this one's clean."

"I-I just came by to help clean up. I figured you'd be in charge here, since you outrank any of us." She started looking more closely at God's plane. The only parts she knew much about were the guns, but it was worth seeing what kind of plane a deity'd have.

Outranking all of them...?

...Oh.

"Thanks." Kara grinned as she took the rag and rubbed the dirt off. She stood up in the next moment, patting the girl on the head with her one clean hand.

"You're a good disciple."

Did she SERIOUSLY believe in the whole god thing though? That was kind of cute.

Pip didn't have much to do around the ship unfortunately, given the fact that the first mate was still suspicious of him and everything. Yuri might have long since relented, but that certainly didn't mean he was totally off the hook just yet. Hence he was given the minimal amount of duties to overlook, just to be on the safe side - the man himself had of course respected that. Always better to be safe than sorry, after all.

Hence he was now quite bored and having not much to do, decided to go around the ship a little - nothing better to do than try and get the low down where you're working. Presently he had just made his way to the (somewhat trashed now partially restored) hangar, peeking from the side as he noticed some new chick he hadn't seen before grumbling about. Well, a gentlemen could never turn down a damsel in distress now, could he?

"'ey zere!" he called out as he stepped into the hangar proper, making his way towards the female. "Need any 'elp?"

"Depends on whoever's asking."

Kara turned to the speaker with a shrewd look, gave him the up and down with the eyes, and then turned away to light up another cigarette. Hangar was looking just a little less shitty than it was when she had started bossing people around and putting her own back into it besides, but that didn't mean that it was nearly as clean as she wanted it to be.

"Kara Thrace. You?"

The brunette's eyes widened slightly in surprise when the woman introduced herself. So she was Thrace? Of course, he had heard about her father having been forced out of service and all that in his younger mercenary days and it had been someone of a dream of his to meet his successor, but he had never expected their meeting to be like this.

He certainly wasn't going to complain though - a mercenary took what he (or she) could get.

Tipping his hat, Pip smiled brightly as he introduced himself to her. "Pip Bernadette, mademoiselle. I do believe we've chatted on the journals before."

That was a conversation he wasn't going to forget anytime soon.

"Ah yeah... I remember you now."

And with a grin, Kara offered her hand - but not before wiping it clean on the back of her pants.

"Nothing like meeting people face-to-face, eh?"
