BUT WHY IS THE RHUM GONE?! )
Hence he was now quite bored and having not much to do, decided to go around the ship a little - nothing better to do than try and get the low down where you're working. Presently he had just made his way to the (somewhat trashed now partially restored) hangar, peeking from the side as he noticed some new chick he hadn't seen before grumbling about. Well, a gentlemen could never turn down a damsel in distress now, could he?
"'ey zere!" he called out as he stepped into the hangar proper, making his way towards the female. "Need any 'elp?"

Kara turned to the speaker with a shrewd look, gave him the up and down with the eyes, and then turned away to light up another cigarette. Hangar was looking just a little less shitty than it was when she had started bossing people around and putting her own back into it besides, but that didn't mean that it was nearly as clean as she wanted it to be.
"Kara Thrace. You?"

He certainly wasn't going to complain though - a mercenary took what he (or she) could get.
Tipping his hat, Pip smiled brightly as he introduced himself to her. "Pip Bernadette, mademoiselle. I do believe we've chatted on the journals before."
That was a conversation he wasn't going to forget anytime soon.

And with a grin, Kara offered her hand - but not before wiping it clean on the back of her pants.
"Nothing like meeting people face-to-face, eh?"
Reply
"Nothin' like it at all," he agreed with a slight laugh. "Much better zan zough zese journal zings, t'be honest." The man was always wary of things on the journals, given how people could use them under the guise as someone else and well... yeah. Pip always had good reasons to avoid things.
...even the Chocobos, mind.

Oddly, Kara was the type to trust no technology beyond that which made it possible for her to fly or kill people better. Or both.
"So are you here to help or are you here to chat? I must just have to kick your ass, depending on your answer."
Reply
"How 'bout both?" the brunette went as he stepped closer to the plane and gave it a once over - he was no expert when it came to planes (he was far more specialized on the ground rather than in the skies) but he knew enough to get by with some of the usual bullshittting and trying out. Learning was a life long process after all, as the old saying went. "I'm no expert when it comes to planes zough, so just tell me what you need me to 'elp out on."

Kara moved right along - she was not one to get discouraged over things not going exactly as planned. The pilot looked around a bit more before speaking again.
"...I suppose I could take a break while you're around.."
She had, after all, pretty much comandeered everyone ELSE in the area to do SOMETHING.

Cigarettes would have to do, and that is exactly what Starbuck pulled out of her back pocket in the next moment. The woman lit up before wordlessly holding the pack out to her companion, in case he wanted to bum.

Perking up slightly at the offered packet, the brunette only broke into another smile before reaching out for them, muttering a 'Zanks' before taking a stick out and lighted it up after placing it between his lips. While he had been cutting down due to... personal reasons, Pip figured it wouldn't hurt just to have one in situations like these.

Not to mention times had been pretty hectic as of late, and a good coffin nail could help in destressing him, even if it was for just a bit.

"So, what's the rewarding for? Been a good boy lately?"

Another chuckle at the question, and the man shook his head. "Not really," he responded with a sheepish look on his face. "Life's been rather hectic recently, to be more exact." What with the whole thing with Doma, Greed's departure and everything in between, nothing had been calm for Pip.
Not that he minded of course. It was a good change from the monotony of life he used to have before taking this job.

"That doesn't sound like anything that a good drink couldn't fix."
