He had therefore decided to open up a self-defense lesson booth. Watari had often stressed the importance of those skills out in a world like Reial, and although self-defense was something that needed years to learn properly, a few basics could be taught in a matter of hours.
He did have a secondary motive for the booth, as well. He wasn't on board with the Winding Way's 'extracurricular' activities, but by holding an event about safety and Justice it was possible that reputation would end up attached to the Winding Way. It certainly couldn't hurt. The idea that creating this false reputation helped the Way's thieving did cross his mind but he chose to ignore it.

"Okay, what are you doing again?" asked the blonde as she wheeled herself over to Riku, Turtle in her lap.

She sat at the entrance with a fake smile plastered on, even though she was a hair's breath away from tears. Ness was gone, he'd left, and the fact that he had said she and Hana were his best friends made it worse not better.
She sat, taking the occasional coin from the child or parent who wanted to play with the animals, she even smiled and told them all about the animals and even tried to sell some of the kittens that still needed homes.
Fobbie was sleeping on her lap, and she was pretty, but she wasn't a very good substitute for Noise or Hana.

"It's a petting zoo," she said. "You pay a small fee-" she pointed to the sign stating the price- "and then you can go in and pet the animals. It makes people happy."
There are a few kids who seem to be enjoying the whole process, most of the parents look bored.

Not as cool as a gladitorial battle, but this could yet be a good show. Sometimes pet zombies back home would get a little ornery and start gnawing on their master, and they'd have to go and get an axe and chop them up until they behaved. Always fun to watch.
He turned back to the girl. "Oh, I get ya. Any of them get annoyed yet?" As if to answer his own question, now that he was actually facing the girl, he could see she wasn't armed.
"Huh...I guess not, or you'd be more eaten. You new to handling pets?"

At the moment, however, he was walking by booths, looking at them with his usual deadpan expression. It was mostly to make sure that everything was going smoothly, since he really had no interest in participating in many, if any at all. There was, of course, the food he would most definitely be getting to shortly.
Well, Watanuki's, at least. He had yet to try Giselle or Tohru's food, and still wouldn't unless Watanuki seemed confident in their skills.
Either way, he still had his bow and a quiver of arrows with him, simply because Zidane seemed to interested in seeing what he could do with them.

Glancing away from the kissing booth, Zidane spotted his fellow boatswain. A grin appeared as he realized he was carrying his bow.
Ah ha.
"Doumeki!" Zidane waved him down and walked over to him.

He figured it would happen soon enough, though. Much of the Way's crew could be surprising.
A very slight smirk showed up, and he tipped his head a little, as though nodding to the bow and quiver over his shoulder. "I hope you have an apple."

"I'll get an apple after I see you hit a bull's eye. I don't care how good you say you are, I'm not sticking this face in front of an arrow without proof." He said with a shrug.
Honestly, he was curious if all his bragging was backed up by actual skill.

Jenrya waited for the old woman to finish her final tale before strolling up to the other boy's booth and setting the cardboard supply box down on the counter. "Well, it looks like you're having a lot of fun," he said with a light laugh.

"Nothing new, really. Playing errand boy is what I do every day," Jenrya sighed. It was true. Errand boy, Cabin boy, there wasn't much of a difference. For the most part, he'd been running around taking care of a variety of tasks that needed to be done: passing out fliers around town, grabbing supplies for others who couldn't leave their booths unattended, and in one instance, helping a lost little girl find her mom, to name a few.
"But it looks like I have some free time on my hands now. There's nothing left for me to do. I feel sort of useless."
